    opinions on outdoor wood boilers

Thanks for the replies. Anyone familiar with wood doctor or heatmaster? Those are the two that I am leaning towards. I have dealers for them that keep parts in stock. They both seem like nice stoves. They are a lot different from each other. Wood Doctor has no grates and is all boiler...

    opinions on outdoor wood boilers

jumpingryan good point you make. I never looked at some of the things you stated that way before. Ok lets say I the only thing I am burning is wood. Have you guys experienced having to shovel ash out a lot with shoves that don't have an ash pan? Or does ash removal seem to be the same...

    opinions on outdoor wood boilers

I have a 40 x 64 x 16 shop with radiant floor heat. I am almost ready to buy an outdoor wood stove. For those of you who have them, I have some questions. I am undecided if I want shaker grates and an ash pan or not. I like the fact that with the grates and pan it easier to clean out. I...

Electrician ran the wire under my house, but not in conduit, should I be worried?

You CANT put SER in conduit. SER is ment to to fastened to something. It cant be in conduit because of heat reasons, it wont dissipate the heat as well. That is why URD and other direct burial wire doesnt have the outer sheathing on it. That why you can either bury it as is or put in...

need to pick a load center.

I am positive they were CH the tan ones. They are not interchangeable with other breakers. I also know you shouldnt cut into live wires, you think I like ruining my tools doing so. My opinion the problem with the murray/siemens is that there isn't any type of anti corrosive grease on the...

need to pick a load center.

I cant believe some of the remarks on here. I will NEVER install a Culter Hammer CH load center! The company I used to work for installed these. Complete JUNK! There were numerous times when I thought things were turned off and they weren't (Panel mislabeled) and I cut into a live wire...

    Bad Electrical Connector

Most, if not all recessed lights can still be removed to access the connections. If you remove the baffle there is usually either little screws or a wing nut that holds the can to the bracket. If you remove them the can will drop out and you can access the connections. Like most of the guys...

Anyone here know about water softners

Are you guys running your discharge off your softener into the sewer line? If so why not just plumb it out side. Dig a reasonable hole fill with stones and run your discharge line to it. The water will kill all plants around it if it soaks out in to the ground. You want it to go down not out.

Normal Central Vac is 1 1/2 I think. I would definitely not use 3". I am not certain on using the Shop vac though. I have been thinking about doing this in my new garage, because you cant **** liquids into a regular central vac unit and a shop vac you can. I say try it and tell us how you...

2" EXP Foam, Does it soak up water

I started to put the foam on the inside of my foundation today and got thinking if or not the foam will soak up moisture. If it does I was going to put plastic on each side of it. I never noticed anyone worry about it before. It doesn't say that it is an approved moisture barrier so that...
