Welcome to the forum, from a fellow mid-Michigan resident. Don't be ashamed of that shop. Old cinder block buildings are great.
Move the camera to the left a little and retake that last picture. Looks like a nice truck!
Correct
If it's your house, no license required.
That being said, I am a Michigan resident non-electrician DIYer and I've done a ton of electrical work on my house, and I'm about to do a 200A service upgrade and wire my new garage. But... 1) The electrical inspector for my township is a very...
This might be way out there...
Do you have gas or propane anywhere near the dryer? If so, it might be cheaper (than a service upgrade) to tear out the double-tapped dryer wire, tee into the gas/propane line, take your dryer when you move, and tell the buyer that he needs a gas dryer.
Just an...
What does your dryer's name plate and/or manual state? My dryer says 10 AWG only if the length between the breaker and receptacle is less than 15 feet. Otherwise 8 AWG. note: I'm a DIYer, not an electrician so I'm not comfortable telling you exactly what to do, just offering a suggestion.
Are you talking about the whip that goes from the dryer to the receptacle, or are you installing a new breaker in your panel and feeding a new dryer receptacle?
The inspector's comment reads "multiple wires are connected to a single lug on a circuit breaker where only one wire should be connected"
Some non-tandem breakers have lugs that allow two wires to be connected so that you don't have to pig-tail. The pictured breaker apparently does not have...
No idea about your power question, but I gotta know -- is coffee that much better when you roast your own beans this way? I've never heard of doing what you say, but I love coffee.
The graphic probably wasn't clear. What I meant by it is 1/2" down to fines and 1-1/2" down to fines. In other words, everything from the finest dust up to 1/2" or 1-1/2"
Thanks to everyone for all the very good info. johnnyturbo, thanks alot for the in-depth explanation and the size chart.
I think I know what to do. Attachment #1 is what I have an estimate for, and it might require maintenance down the road if it sinks in. Attachment #2 sounds like a good...
Thanks for the input everyone. I'm going to get something called 21AA crushed concrete which contains fines up to 1.5", and I'll ask them whether it contains trash and/or metal.
I think I'm going to use the RR ties for edging and hope for the best. I already use RR ties elsewhere for...
Thanks for the insight.
Do they need to act like a dam? If so, should I not bury them? I was hoping to be able to drive over them for overflow parking if we have a party (which is rare...).
I'm getting to the point where I'm ready to have a driveway put in to my detached garage -- right now we're driving across grass, sand, etc. I like the look of stone/gravel, and I prefer it to asphalt and/or concrete because I think it's a good fit for the rural area in which I live. The...
