    Coast flashlights from lowes??

Coast is an excellent brand of flashlight. I carry one on my belt every day for the last nine years. I've been through countless batteries, but still the original light. It has been dropped in coolant tanks, hydraulic oil tanks, and on rare occasions taken a 15 foot fall to concrete and has...

C/L Cornwell Box & tools $5k--You tell me...

It all depends on the buyer. I really doubt there is a buyer out there that would pay that price. At least I hope not. Personally I don't see $200 there, but that's just me. Some people here will be happy to see this though. It makes there collections worth something in the six figures. :rocker:

    Socket Extensions: How Many?

I have 16 1/2 feet worth of extensions in my box. the shortest is an 1.5" wobble in 3/8" drive and the longest is a 36" 3/8" drive. At my job there is a machine with a 1.5" access hole and the bolt is about 39" in. I got the 36" and still have to put a 6" on it. The first time took forever with...

Snap on vs. OTC ball joint press, number of adapters

I can't speak for either brand but I can recommend harbor freight. Personally I don't like their tools or products, but this one is a winner. They also offer an adapter kit and your total investment will be far less. Just my opinion.

    Craftsman 299 pc. Socket Set

One reason for large sockets in 12 point is for breaker bar use. With a 12 point you have twice the positions to get the tool on the fastener.

Anyone buy a battery charger lately ?

I picked up a Stanley from menards and really like it. The reason I bought it was because it had a cigarette lighter plug attachment. It works great for my side by side. I believe its 6 amp and switches from charging to float automatically.

Kennedy 3900MP vs Cornwell 700 Series Cart

Get the Kennedy! I have a 5300mp and love it. The one thing to think about is that the drawer pulls are not flush with the box. For some people that can be an issue. I roll my box around 28,000 square feet all day and dont have drawers coming open.

Looking to buy a new welder, have a few questions

Consider getting a 220v. Much more versatile than a 110v. As far as the original question; go hobart. We use a hobart mig and stick in my shop and have had zero problems. Great welders at a great price. As someone said before miller makes hobart and in fact the hobart will have a miller branded gun.

    Bridgeport vise

First remove the moving jaw. There is a screw in the middle that backs out and then you can lift the jaw off. At this point you may have to remove the threaded collar on the hex side of the shaft. There should be thrust bearings on both sides. Now remove the shaft and slide assembly and put in a...
