    Preserving those thermoformed inserts

Hmm, I do have an old unopened tub of bondo. Heck, I might try laying cling-wrap over bondo and bedding the sockets in it to create a holder from scratch! Fiberglass backing an excess of resin might work.

Lets make an all vintage Snap-on tool picture thread!

I have an vintage 1/4 Snap-On set from my grandfather, it consists of 8 sockets, a 6-inch extension, a driver with an orange plastic handle, a sliding T-bar, a unmarked/no-name breaker-bar (presumably added), a modern Thorsen 77M ratchet (added), and a vintage Bonney RF22 refrigeration ratchet...

    vintage saw restoration

Damn fine work! Makes me want to dig out my grandpa's old saws and get them properly cleaned up! ...though I'd have to find them first, organization wasn't a priority when what was left of his tools (after the rest of the family picked over them) was transferred to our garage, and it has been...

    FAKE Tekton gear pullers. WTF?!

I fully believe that Amazon's selling system is broken, that they know this, and that they don't care. I ordered a new motherboard on amazon and I specifically chose a listing that included a back-plate (the metal piece with holes that match the ports), and when it arrived, no back-plate...

    Vintage Warehouse Hand Trucks

Beautiful old hand-truck and great repair work! The local co-op where I live had one of similar design but half again or more bigger for shifting straw-bales, not sure if they have it anymore after the top-to-bottom remodel of the building (floors were getting kinda soft for the forklifts), but...

    Preserving those thermoformed inserts

I was thinking of using a urethane or epoxy, just have to be sure it's rigid when cured. Latex might be too flexible for the warped one I'm repairing, but might be okay for one of the better ones, though I'm not sure how it wears/degrades over time and with possible exposure to oil/grease...

    Preserving those thermoformed inserts

We're all familiar with the thermoformed plastic inserts that come in the sturdy metal cases of the 40-piece metric/imperial socket sets from the 60's-90's, right? They do their job well when new but over time they sag, crack, and generally fall apart as they age. Now, filling in the underside...
