Recommend me a buy it for life and hand it down screwdriver set

I like hard handles but I hate acetate. That's why I loved the Tektons so much with the high glass content.

I just saw on their site. No more. Bummer.

Recommend me a buy it for life and hand it down screwdriver set

I really like the Vessels but recently the red hard handle Tektons are winning me over. The texture and shape are so incredibly perfect for my hand. For years I had just some really old Craftsmans and made do until I bought a test of the black tri-lobe Tektons at our local Rural King. This was...

Time to replace my worn out Craftsman Impact Sockets

The only SAE I've used recently was on the Champion Air compressor pump R15 disassembly.

Time to replace my worn out Craftsman Impact Sockets

    Replacing the whole house HVAC

I agree, those two aspects are quite commonly true. Contractors can get away with very shoddy work because the customer doesn't know enough to hold them accountable. The more specialized these things become, the worse it gets. I know enough to think I know a few things, but not enough to really...

    Replacing the whole house HVAC

It's a sliding scale for sure! There's always something better, especially to a pro who has the knowledge to play the purist. But good enough truly is good enough.

    Replacing the whole house HVAC

Yeah, I think part of why the new condenser is to big is that they're trying to dump the same heat with lower air velocity and less restriction (less fan work). That and maybe the compressor discharge temps are lower and you get less effective heat transfer with a cooler condenser? I expected it...

    Replacing the whole house HVAC

Maybe it's pedantic to say so, but I don't consider buying things that go down in value to be an investment. I consider them to be expenses. Simply getting something in return for your money doesn't make it an investment. Comfortable air in your home is mostly a luxury. And luxury is an expense.

    Replacing the whole house HVAC

YMMV, this was in the mid 10s K. FWIW, when I lived in Cheyenne (not from from you in Northern CO) we had a swamp cooler and always thought it sufficient. The air is already dry and water readily evaporates, so even on the hottest nights the swamp cooler seemed sufficient. Obviously if your...

    Replacing the whole house HVAC

I agree fully with that, which is why instead of throwing $2k into a repair of uncertain utility and effectiveness, I just applied that money to a new system with as much replaced as reasonably made sense.
