This motor has a commutator/brush setup, so it is a type of repulsion motor. It may be a repulsion-induction (not repulsion start-induction run which is a different type), but you'd have to have a look at the rotor to see if there is a squirrel cage winding in addition to your commutated...
Re: ~ Plomb tool picture thread - show your stuff!
I might have one of those, but if not I may know where to get one. 2" & 2-3/8" right? I have a good selection of larger wrenches from doing logging work, so I'll check and let you know
Had bought this parker vise and the sliding jaw had broken in two. With some prep work, lots of pre-heating, beveling, then the right nickel rods, and proper cooling it can live one more time! May not ever be as strong or pretty as it was, but grey cast iron can definitely be welded
It's definitely a strange one, but I like it a lot better than the ones that use a slotted base with the adjustment at the top. This one really feels like it locks the position securely when it's set.

Update:
Added to this over the years

Back from the dead! A while back I had made a table for this, so I figured I'd post it. Made from a brake drum off of a Kenworth, some 3/4" threaded rod, 3/4" steel plate. The top plate was tapped so that the working surface was flush. Holds up great and is height adjustable.
I'm usually terrible at documenting any of the project endeavors that I've made, but this time I managed to do a little bit. For a while I had been using a small speedaire compressor w/ a 3/4 hp motor and it wasn't enough for what I needed. Ideally a 2 stage pump would be great, but god knows...
