Sears.com hot deals and clearance thread

Yours must have been broke. I have one and love it. My buddies IR TiMAX is a little better, but you'll pay several times more for it.

Did raised panel used to be better?

I started working on cars as a teenager in the '80's and had some cheap Chinese and Craftsman tools to work with. Had no real issue with either. I suspect Chinese quality went up a lot over the last 30 years, while the USA Craftsman may not be quite as good. Still, my newer USA RP wrenches...

Craftsman 48 piece SAE/Metric Thread Restorer Set

I think this is a great tool. It serves to simply clean existing threads much better than regular tap and die. Looks like Sears is in the process of clearing them out. Made by Kastar, for less money. I picked up a couple extra to sell later.

    Mayhew Prybars at Amazon

Often I see guys trying to complete their Craftsman pro pry bar set. Here is the Mayhew set at what looks to be a good price, $67.88: http://www.amazon.com/Mayhew-61366-Dominator-Curved-5-Piece/dp/B006WZOJFE/ref=pd_sim_hi_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=035VJSQ01ZDQBX7QP00Y

    Old Craftsman 540 set

It seems Sears has switched the 540 piece set over to the new China made stuff. The old set, probably all USA, is marked down to $899.88 http://www.sears.com/craftsman-540-pc-mechanics-tool-set/p-00936540000P?prdNo=9&blockNo=9&blockType=G9 Since, it ends in .88, it's their lowest markdown...

    craftsman 540 piece set deal?

I shop Sears regular to catch things on sale, and that is a great price on the 540 set. Normally, the lowest sale price I see listed on that one is $899. It's a pretty big set of tools and USA or China, it's still got the warranty. A few years back I picked up the 413 piece set at about 45%...

    Craftsman Industrial Singles CHEAP!

I've gotten 2 of the 1/2" ratchets and a 3/8" too. They keep sending me the non-fine tooth versions of them. Anyone else have this problem? I suppose the 36 tooth version is not a bad thing, but I was hoping for the fine tooth version.

Sears and Craftsman Want Your Feedback!!!

Sears and Craftsman have both been going downhill for a long time. The Craftsman move to Chinese made is like them running up the white flag. It signals they know they've lost and just want to wring a few more dollars out of a once trusted and respected brand. Wal-Mart kicked their *** with...

    HF 44" Top Box?

So many good points. To the op, it all comes down to what YOUR use needs are. Think in terms of what your storing, and how close you want and need to be to these tools. I try to keep the things I use the most in the closest most centralized easy to access places. Buying another top might...

Craftsman Professional 31" pry bar at Sears

The 31" seems to be in stock. I have this pry bar set, it seems nice, but so far have not used it, or at least needed to. I reach for the basic Craftsman set and some cheaper ones for when I need them.

    Craftsman Premium Grade Ratchets

I've got the premium ratchet in 3/8 and am pleased with it. Would prefer it had a quick release, but good ratchet still. The head is still low profile and the long handle provides extra leverage. Don't know how it would hold up to professional use. I picked mine up, several years back...

Craftsman professional 7pc wrench set- $14/ amazon prime

These look just like a set I own, so I will suppose they are the same. I confess, I don't use mine, but they came in a larger set and I've had no reason to get rid of them. I have sets of gear wrench reversible and flex heads that I occasionally use for odd spots on the vehicles. Now, these...

    Craftsman USA at Sears Outlets

So sad to see craftsman going to Chinese made hand tools. I've already got the 6pt wrenches, yes, they're a little bit gimmick, but they came with a tool set and you never know. I'm interested in extra 12pt rp combo wrenches, since the stores will only be carrying the big beak china ones. I...
