    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

ok ignore last post. I'm confusing pin and ball detents. I didn't even realize there were two different things. But yes, the pin detent can and does get stuck based on personal experience. It's annoying. And no, the socket doesn't just fall off if you line it up with a side that doesn't have...

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

Do you have one? Because I do and it doesn't seem normal to me. The pin-detents on other things I have (ratchets, extensions, even other Milwaukee tools) can be removed with a a good pull etc. They won't just fall off on their own. With this tool, the detent isn't completely ball-shaped. It's...

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

Mine is like that too. I'm going to contact them once I'm done my current car repair job. The problem is the detent isn't completely ball-shaped. It's flat around the past and that catches on the sockets. I have to use a pick to press it down and free them and I once had a socket get stuck on...

Track Saw vs Circular Saw vs Table saw Vs Miter saw - Which one to start with?

It'll always be the case that as soon as you get one of these tools, you'll wish you had purchased it sooner. In order, I got circular>portable table (the big Dewalt one mounted on a stand with wehsll)>compound miter (the robot-looking 12" Bosch)>track saw (makita). The track saw is just way...

Milwaukee m18 hole hawg vs mixer?

I've got to level a couple floors, tile a couple bathrooms etc. I prefer to buy rather than rent tools. Looking forward a bit I have to redo my deck, which will presumably involve some posts and mixing of concrete. I'm debating getting a Milwaukee hole hawg or the mixing tool. I'm not a pro but...

what's missing from my tools for automotive work?

Cool. Do you move your box or just leave it horizontal on that cart? I could imagine that without the foam, if you actually put it vertical to roll it, any organization inside the drawers would quickly go to hell.

what's missing from my tools for automotive work?

Yes, I love Knipex more than it is reasonable to love any tools. I have some other brand pliers, including channelock, but I've been replacing all of them with Knipex. I will order that set.

what's missing from my tools for automotive work?

to be clear, this isn't a "road kit". I'm buying the pelican because I haven't seen anything better for moving 7+1 drawers worth of tools around. This is just my way of stuffing as many tools as possible into a mobile chest that I can haul out to the driveway to work on cars because it's a PITA...

what's missing from my tools for automotive work?

for the snap ring pliers, what should i get, specifically? Knipex has just about a million different types of them. Can anyone provide a specific rec there? Ditto for the hose clamp pliers. For hex and torx sockets, will I ever see them on American/Japanese cars, or just Euro? I'm in a ford...

    Milwaukee Mobile Packout System

No but I have a bunch of the stacking dewalt tough system boxes for all my construction tools and I really like them. Very well built. There's a cart they mount to. It is also rugged. My dewalt boxes are filled with M12 and M18 tools.

what's missing from my tools for automotive work?

I'm trying to round out my tools because I have to plan the drawer layout in a Pelican 0450 (a mobile mechanic's chest that was designed for the army) that I ordered. The foam will cost me $100 and I don't want to have to re-order/re-cut the layout a bunch of times. I need to get everything in...

    Flashlights

I have Fenix PD35TACs. Can switch it between tactical and outdoor mode. Runs off 16850s. Excellent light. I also have the head-mounted one. Again, excellent light. Fenix is chinese but the build quality is top notch. For weapon-mounted lights, I wouldn't veer from Surefire.
