    Sealing around the garage door

Love these ideas! As it turned out, previous owner had folded up the seal on both ends, leaving 1-2" gaps. I still wanted to replace the seal because there were several cuts and small holes in it. Question: where do you guys purchase these seals? The local hardware stores and big boxers had...

    Sealing around the garage door

I'm getting my garage ready for winter and one thing I'm trying to do is seal the holes around the garage door. I could use some advice/info/tips on how to take care of this. My door is about 15 years old and has a compressible rubber seal on the bottom; it looks well made and I haven't seen...

Help! What to do with this spalled, pitted floor?

You've seen the before pics of the floor ... here's a before of part of the garage and an after pic showing how it looks now. It's part of a mid-century modern restoration of a 1950s home. Painted the walls green, installed pegboard, street map and vintage cabinets.

    Am I asking for trouble?

Do you need any kind of sealer for the Epoxy Guard product? According to the manufacturer, no sealer is necessary. I called them and asked tech support what kind of sealer would be recommended, and they said not to use any at all.

    Anyone use the Epoxy-Coat kit?

I'd love to hear testimonials from anyone here who has used Epoxy-Coat. http://www.epoxy-coat.com/ They sell kits which seem to be similar to the Costco kits by EpoxyGuard. What I like about Epoxy-Coat is that they have a number of products available, including half kits. That's convenient for...

Help! What to do with this spalled, pitted floor?

I've been told that the kits sold by Epoxy-Coat will work, if I lay it on heavy. http://www.epoxy-coat.com/ Anyone have experience with this stuff? How does it compare to the EpoxyGuard they sell at Costco?

Liquid Nails as a concrete patch and filler

I talked to an epoxy company today and they said that some of their installers will fill holes, big pits, and cracks with Liquid Nails. They just wait for the dry time on the tube and then cover the whole thing with the epoxy. I asked how long it holds up and they said there never was a problem...

Help! What to do with this spalled, pitted floor?

Thanks for replying. I want this floor fixed, and I want to fix it soon. Do you have a calculation method so I know how much I'll need? Wow, no prep? I've done the floor epoxy in a basement, and it turned out great, but prep was 80%+ of the job. I expected the same for the garage. You don't...

Help! What to do with this spalled, pitted floor?

Over 100 people saw this and nobody knows what can be done? I'm not "set" on epoxy even though I bought two boxes of the Rust-Oleum product -- so if there's a better solution for me such as tiles, I'm open to it. But what can I do to fix this floor -- what will work? Please folks, I'm a...

Help! What to do with this spalled, pitted floor?

I'm new here and I've been enjoying this forum a lot! I'm having trouble trying to figure out what to do with my garage floor so I thought I'd ask the experts. There are two "catches" to my situation: (1) we have a fridge and a few other big items in the garage that I can't keep outside while...

How to fix cracks in garage floor?

I've patched concrete using a bonding agent and no matter how much I prepped, it never lasts more than a few years. Your comment that it won't be permanent makes me a bit nervous. I have a llot of spalling in my garage and I want to apply Rust-Oleum Garage Floor Coating once I fix it. But if...

    older concrete with epoxy

Did you ever do it? How did it turn out? I called Quikrete tech support and they told me that their epoxy won't work as a self-leveler, and I called Rustoleum next and they said the same thing. But I've heard others say that if you lay it on thick enough, it will. So I've gotten some...

Damaged concrete repair - Need advice prior to epoxy.

Greg, is this Flexkrete available in stores? I have a lot of pitting in my garage and am trying to determine the best step to take for repairing it prior to laying down an epoxy paint.

My Rustoleum Professional EPOXYShield Garage Floor Project

I'm planning on doing this to my garage floor and have a question about how to make the repairs to the surface beforehand. My floor is 50 years old and has a lot of pitting from road salt. I'd say that it's roughly a 14'x12' area that's full of shallow pits. I love the idea of using the...
