@chargedmr2 that grinder is in outstanding condition for its age. Did it come with the quenching cup as well? That accessory alone made the purchase worthwhile. First rate.

THE WALKER-TURNER THREAD - Post your Walker-Turner pics

The catalog and grinder brochure only cover 2 years, those grinders, without much mechanical change, were offered for a pretty decent stretch of time. Perhaps it was offered later in the run, or possibly the owner found a 10-in that wasn't working well and commandeered the light shields.

@chargedmr2 that is an exceptional grinder, with all the Tauco branding and a wartime oil-board serial number badge. An outstanding example and fairly rare. On my grinder, only the pedestal badge was a Delta badged over a Tauco.

@Snip's that is an absolute needle in a haystack find, wow. Interesting that it does not have a Delta motor, more than likely that is a Porter-Cable badged repulsion induction motor that was made by Master Electric Co. from Dayton, OH. To have the sawdust blower and dust chute still attached...

@chargedmr2 mine was Benjamin Moore Advance paint in satin, merely mixed at Ace. I would imagine BM and SW would be able to match our duplicate each other's colors. Advance is awesome in terms of the open time and hardness; it is cabinet paint after all. Only thing I would do different if I...

I was asked an excellent question via the GJ direct conversation. Regarding the delta grinder SR-242 wrench, it's size and what exactly does it tighten and untighten? The SR-242 wrench came with the Delta grinder and shaper. It was 12-point and sized 9/16" and 7/8". The 9/16" end was useful...

220 is such a terrific and reliable benchtop drill press. I've always had a thing for Delta's on-off switch pull handles, love that yours still has the steel guide with o-ring intact. Should last another 85 years.

Finally finished restoring my 1947 Delta pedestal grinder

Thank you. In preparation for powder coat, did you use a fine grit 3M pad, fine brass wire wheel? I most likely will spray them silver but would like to know best technique to remove old gray color. Being diecast, a delicate touch is required.
