I was able to finish wiring to the lift this weekend after having it installed last week. I’m extremely happy with the way everything turned out. Hopefully my pictures show up.

Thank you everyone for the help. I installed the junction box tonight and will hold off until the lift is installed to drop power to it.

I would love to buy American but the only lift I believe that is truly US built is Mohawk. Challenger, BendPak, Rotary all advertise 220v motors. I purchased what I thought work best for me and so far the service from Titan has been great.

I’m sure the lift is Chinese built. Almost all lifts are Chinese built including those engineered in the US like Rotary and Challenger.

I’m purchasing a Titan HD2P-9KFP.

The lift installer got back with me today and said 3hp motor, 220v, 10/2 wire, and 30A breaker. I guess I’ll look more into permanently wiring the lift. Im still at least a month out before it can be installed so I’ll wait until it’s installed to drop power to it.

With finished walls and ceiling in steel it would be a major pain. Easier to run the cable 20ft to the wall outlet and be done.

I am having a lift installed with a 220v 30A motor. I currently have an outlet roughly 20 feet from where the lift will be placed that is on a 2 pole 30A breaker. My plan is to use that outlet which currently has a 50A plug installed, which is incorrect, and switch it out to the correct 30A...

I know that much I was just referring to if I swapped the 30A breaker to a 20A breaker.

What is your recommendation? I could swap the 30A breaker to a 20A breaker and still be well under the 80% even with the voltage drop which I calculated at around 1A using 12ga wire.

I am currently upgrading all of my lighting in my shop. Currently there are two circuits dedicated to lighting one a 20A circuit and the other a 30A circuit. While looking at charts to decide what gauge wiring it looks like most wiring is rated for 100ft or less at whatever amp load based on...

Platonic Solid thank you for reviewing it. I plan to order a fixture and bulbs to check fitment before ordering everything. Once I finish the project I will make sure to update this thread with some pictures.
