Is this old vise worth restoring??

its a project. who cares where it was made. if its free and you can use it, restore it for pennies then I don't see why NOT to

Drained compressor and now have hole in tank, new comp? or new tank?

I would HIGHLY advise to ditch the tank. There's a guy on WeldingWeb that had one blow out. broke his leg, trashed his hand, multiple pins nuked the fridge next to it among other things...

    New Tool Boxes At Costco....

As for the door on top, do you guys actually close the lids on the box you have now? not defneding it. I'm just saying that the top of my current box is so full that there's no way in hell I can close it.

    "life" time warranty

Proof of purchase clause. That's always a good one. The receipt that was printed on thermal paper and will completely fade away in about a year? That proof of purchase? LOL. Even better are the ones that say you have to mail the product back to somewhere far far away and pay for shipping both...

    Craftsman Torque Wrench

I need to look where mine was made but I don't trust it. Also last time I was at the local sears, I saw a register monkey walk up with several in his arms and literally THROW them in a basket to put them out for stock. Looking at him, he likely just figured they're wrenches and should be thrown...

Tools that are probably in every American toolbox...

I saw that and thought someone's really into PAIN! (since its a big pic, I first thought it was a fleshlight.)

    Inherited tools (Lots of pictures)

It may not be the best answer but its MY answer. When I have to lube a disassembled air gun or ratchet, I use the heavy duty bearing grease you lube hubs with. Its worked for years just fine. Is it the "correct" thing to use? Beats me.

Industrial themes. Garage or man cave

a true man cave is a man's garage. Not a living room with a "garage theme". :)

    Did I get ripped?

I have no clue if you got ripped but I've found its often better for your sanity to not question afterwards. Are you happy with the item you purchased? Is it paid and done for? If you can answer both of those then you're good. Move on.

MIG Welding Tip of the Day

that's what I was thinking. It took you SIX tacks before you noticed there was a problem? You need to practice your welding more.

    I waxed my box

to the OP, at least you're not out obsessing about your yard. Lord knows you'd be called for crazy about that but waxing your toolbox is "normal".

    I waxed my box

I dunno man. don't mean to get too personal but I'd bet that most guys wax their tool on occasion. FRESHLY waxed? YES! 2 weeks post wax with that drunken stubble? notsomuch... I've found that after about 30 that they start to see that its a pointless exercise . NO....that is COMPLETELY...

    Why coat my garage/shop floor?

How does coating the floor keep dust down?

    buying steel? variable prices?

Now that's great insight! thanks for sharing. I have no problem paying a premium as I'm a tinkerer and I know they won't really make any money off me. I just wish we could see what that "premium" is.

    Snap-On mechanics gloves 9.99 shipped

totally agree about the whoring. I don't often see the mechanix gloves (that are likely the same thing) for that price though.
