    Hmmm. Pulled the chuck. The taper runout is 0.0040 at the top (wide end) and 0.0070 at the bottom (narrow end) with the quill unlocked and 0.0025 and 0.0050, respectively, with the quill locked.     I reassembled with green Loctite between the quill bearings and the shaft. It's an improvement but not 100%. Vibration is highest with the quill up and least with the quill extended all the way down. I should have checked if the shaft was bent before reassembling. 🤦‍♂️
