    Terminal crimper experts--

I like the simple MSD crimpers when I build cables because I get a nice pattern going, and I am forced to think about the cut before I make it. Just a preference, and I am not sure I could make a case against a crimper, I may have just used these fixtures for so long, I just like them...

    Terminal crimper experts--

The units you buy from AAW are decent for 56 and 58 packard terminals. I have a LOT of crimpers, and honestly for the $110 the pertronix branded crimp set is not a bad value, as long as your hands are strong. The handle could be longer. Go to digi-key and start looking at various Molex crimpers...

Wiring question for LED flat panels

You should easily be able to get a 500' roll of bell wire at your local box store. They use it for alarm systems all the time. There are a bunch of dirfferent 18/2 cables out there in 500' rolls. Use the term thermostat wire, alarm wire, or security wire.

Wiring question for LED flat panels

No problem! Once mounted, I could pull pretty hard on those fittings with no issues! I do have one bracket into wood, but the other was always into tin. I was really happy with the nut-serts, and they are very inexpensive.

Pole Barn Lighting Battle - T5 vs T8 vs LED

Oh, there is a frame in there to nail to! I built them as I went. In some of the videos I think you can see that I was using 8 foot studs, and building a header. Then when we did the top half, just dit another 66 inches, then used three studs to build the nailing surface for the freize and J...

Wiring question for LED flat panels

Yes, the balast in the light fixture is what provides teh dimming function, and I believe is just a PWM modulator of some sort. The frequency is quick though, has not been noticable. I bought standard 18 AWG bell wire, mine was red/white sheethed, and was not terribly expensive. 18AWG is more...

Wiring question for LED flat panels

jjscott, I have two sets of 8 LED panels using a 0-10V dimmable balast on each. You can easily wire them the way you want. Since I ran conduit, I used low voltage bell wire for my Violet and Grey wires (the control signals). Use whatever correctly sized Line, Nuetral and Ground conductors. I ran...

Pole Barn Lighting Battle - T5 vs T8 vs LED

You will not be disapointed! Make sure you order the surface mount brackets if you plan on flush mounting. I have a video showing how they go together....

    Insulating pole barn

R19 fits in the cavity pretty well. I used it in my build, and it fluffs out to around 6.5 inches or so. I framed inside and tacked the kraft paper, put I imagine there are a lot of ways to skin this kitten!

Pole Barn Lighting Battle - T5 vs T8 vs LED

You are correct, I miss-remembered! They are AWESOME! Being able to turn them down is really nice. Once the lifts are in, the layout will really make sense. Already with the pallet racking in I am really happy with the layout.

Does anyone use pems in aluminum sheetmetal? What do you build?

We use them a lot in our chassis. They are awesome.

LED Lights! I used the Aleo 95W units, and they are easily dimable, no noise! Video:

What type of gasket dressing/sealant for a transmission?

Depending on what you are working on, an anaerobic sealer is the best. Why do you need to seal your bellhousing? That tacky stuff is most liekly a gasket adhesive or aviation style sealer.
