Well my personal experience with my Quincy with the QT5 pump has been all bad from the day I bought it new but at least I only use it for home use. If your going that route buy the EW.

I would step up and braze the cracks. It's the best fix. Those cracks are probably from past wheel explosions. Using an inexpensive bandaid fix could end up being expensive if being impaled by cast iron during the next wheel explosion.
