    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

Because I'm on the internet to check to see if I've won the lottery (which I haven't, so no new garage for me yet.), let me be the first to wish you and all the others following this thread a very happy, healthy and great New Year! (And all others on the board too ofcourse!) (As I'm writing...

    flip flops and garage safety

Note to self: hold on tight to my CJ full steel doors... Ouch, I wish you a speedy recovery. I can think of what it must have looked like since I work in diagnostic imaging and get to do a lot of that kind of work in the ER. Having worked as a carpenter and a paver before I was always glad to...

    garage from belguim

Welkom vanuit Nederland! Dat is een mooie garage geworden! Welcome from the Netherlands! It's become a great garage! As for what we call wood, or lumber: hout and we can order it in the dimensions we want, lengthwise, and there's certain standard dimensions like two by three for width and height.

Great build! Love the DIY. I'm also pretty interested in how it handles behind your car. Can you feel it pull or push you while braking or accelerating? And does it tend to bounce at a certain speed, or is it stable at highway speeds?

Had to do something that I have dreaded

We got cats instead of dogs, but they know too. First two cats we had were sisters, one got run over after sitting in the middle of the street watching cars "dead ahead"(no pun intended). The other one was really upset for a week or two. When the other was run over too we hesitated about getting...

Had to do something that I have dreaded

You have my sympathy. We've got cats instead of dogs and I've found three driven over by cars out in the street. It really does get very silent once there's no more dogs or cats to beg for food in the morning.

    Most comfortable safety glasses

I've heard of a thread on a porsche forum, where as a tribute to you they all posed alike for a photo in front of their porsche. How about we all put on our ear protection and welding helmet/face mask and pose Jack like?? :bounce:

    Most comfortable safety glasses

Looks good that last one! Yeah, I caught a metal splinter in my eye, near the pupil for standing at my bench looking down at my workpiece from underneath my safety glasses. Face mask it is!

89 silverado frame repair pic heavy

He was thinking pretty much in the same lines as the guy in the link I provided earlier. I would have both the frame ends notched like the guy in the link does, instead of having a taper at the end. Having it notched, both ends will fit right up and you have a greater length of weld which...

89 silverado frame repair pic heavy

From the pictures it looks like the rear has some serious rust issues, if that's looking as worse as it does, then what does the rest look like? On my Jeep the rear crossmember was gone too, but when I took the body off to check the rest of the chassis, I felt both relieved and stumped. Stumped...

    brother bought another lemon jeep

Got a 1978 CJ 7. Great vehicle with loads of work, so never a dull moment. The electrics in jeeps weren't too good, but that 256 I-6 will keep on running. Mine has a T-150 gearbox and a Dana 20 T-case which works well. Furthermore it has a Dana 30 front axle and the AMC 20 rear axle with solid...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

Hi Jack, I've read through both your threads while I was still a lurker here. It sure is an inspiration seeing you rebuild your shop and doing the work yourself. That's what I enjoy about fitting out my shop while rebuilding the Jeep. And I'm only 26, so I can take my time doing it. I did see a...

    New french guy

Bonjour et bienvenue dans le forum de Garage! Je ne parle pas beaucoup de francais, mais un petit peu. Le VW Beetle c'est un voiture trés interessant! Vous avez des photos du Beetle? Got to say, that's a nice garage. Those trusses look classic, that's how they used to make the roof to a...
