What are some of the tools manufacturers could make, but don't make?

Im pretty sure they do make a metric version of their x-in-1 nut spinner: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DQVS5LR6?ref=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_GPR5Z4EJPTA7N7NTJX2P&ref_=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_GPR5Z4EJPTA7N7NTJX2P&social_share=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_GPR5Z4EJPTA7N7NTJX2P

What's the one garage upgrade you wish you'd done sooner?

Decent lighting. Use to have just one single tube fitting right in the middle of the garage that was fine 90% of the time. Replaced with 3 double tube fittings that are on a 2 switch, so you can turn just 1 or all 3 on and they really make a big difference when working on something.

    Do you torque electrical connections?

I work as an industrial electrician and i honestly have never torqued a connection properly other than feel “thats tight enough”. Only place i have ever seen it done was a power station where everything was super regulated; crimps needed to also imprint the clamp size used, special cable number...

Air System Piping-- don't overthink it (lessons from my recent project)

Whenever i have done air piping i have always followed this system and have never had a problem with water: Granted that 99% of my experience has been in a factory setting so smaller garages may be a different experience.

    My father’s tools

Its ok, i had family tell me they’ll most likely take mine to the rubbish tip / scrap yard because they wouldn't be able to find anyone as gullible as me to spend “such stupid money” on old tools.

    Ikon ratchets lack QR feature

I really don’t get the hate. QR is better in just about every situation i have ever used a ratchet in. I used someones none QR ratchet at work not long ago and hated it, the sockets constantly needed prying off with a driver except when i really didn't want them to come off and they would snare...

Thoughts on a Ryobi Impact and Compressor for College bound Daughter

I like those Noco jump starters they even have usb ports to charge a phone with. She would probably do better with that and a standard 12v plug in compressor. In my experience how many times do you change a tyre driving on normal roads. You would probably do better getting a top level breakdown...

    Do you use vintage tools?

Would depend on what it is and its condition etc for me. I use some spanners that are considered vintage (made in the 60s) everyday but i also have some sockets that are getting pretty worn and just live as spares in my main store box. Other stuff like old sizings (BA and Whitworth for...

New set of Allen Keys needed

Im also a fan of the Weras. Ive used them daily for years now and had no problems with them other than, like you say, the sleeve comes off. I use to glue the sleeve into the holder instead when they came off.

    Markers of quality

100% Have to agree and its one of the reasons I stopped watching PF and other tool comparison videos. Testing side cutters that are designed to cut electrical cable, thin steel wire, maybe small size or soft metal bolts etc try and cut thick tool steel with pressure above what is even humanly...

Any tools you buy NEW and immediate upgrade or modify or polish or whatever??

I sand paper wood hammer handles, i think they feel better to hold with the lacquer off. Also I slice the stop off of adjustable wrenches teeth so they open wider then they should (or let you wind the jaw out without removing the screw).

What Tool Is The Bane of your existence? I'll go 1st

I always wondered if it was just me. I remember at my work they bought hundreds of cartridges that were too long to fit inside the guns we had so you had to squeeze them out of the tube into the guns reservoir; pull the tab off at the top and hacksaw the bottom of the tubeoff then ram a piece...

How did Snap On become the standard?

Since I don't do planes, if I set off now after the swim, if a shark doesn't take my wallet, I'll be there next week some time haha. At least now our money is plastic it wont get wet, hope you take pound notes.

How did Snap On become the standard?

Probaby not really relevent but its interesting as a none USA guy, I own snap-on stuff and I know other people who do but I've never seen a tool truck before, I've only ever ordered online or got them second hand. So I would never consider them a standard over here.
