    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

These videos never get old, my entire 2 car garage build has been 100% inspired by this thread and OP. Next is finding the right P car for it :)

Scissor lift keeps tripping breaker (pics inside)

Hey guys, thanks so much for the feedback. The mystery has been solved. This is a situation of poor labeling most likely, which caused all the confusion for what's required. I bought a 110v 15A plug and ran it on the 12awg cable that came with the lift. Running it off the 110v 20A plug I...

Scissor lift keeps tripping breaker (pics inside)

Isn't that going to accomplish the same thing as my current NEMA 6-50R on a 40A breaker?

    From the manual, says 1HP.

Scissor lift keeps tripping breaker (pics inside)

Thanks for the suggestion, it almost seems simpler to find a 2hp motor like what's used on this identical harbor freight scissor lift (2hp 220v) and go about it this way than look for breakers/plugs/receptacles/wires/etc. https://www.harborfreight.com/6000-lb-capacity-scissor-lift-91315.html...

Can you show me what this 'special' plug looks like?

This is the current cable, is this too big for a 120v plug or can I reuse it? If it's too big, what spec cable should I use? This is the panel in the garage, on the right is the 120v breaker, I'd have to upgrade this one to 40A?

Scissor lift keeps tripping breaker (pics inside)

    I don't think I have anything that big for 120v. Isn't 40A+ saved for stoves/dryers?

Scissor lift keeps tripping breaker (pics inside)

Just to clarify I am not an electrician so a lot of this is foreign to me, if anyone wants a laugh I am an accountant trying to figure this out :D What I do know is that it says 110v on the specs of the lift as well as the internal components, however the previous owner has a 240v plug/wire...

Meaning, run a new cable and plug for 120v? Looking at the motor specs it looks like it will drop the power of the lift from 3hp to 1hp.

Scissor lift keeps tripping breaker (pics inside)

Hi everyone. I recently bought this scissor lift and it keeps blowing the breaker in my garage. It was originally for 110v, the person I bought it from had it setup for 220v, which is also what I have in my garage. Redline - Kernel MR6K-48 6,000lb Portable Mid-Rise Frame Lift...

Steel buildings - what do I need to know?

I love this forum, so much good information flowing in. Readhead was kind enough to give me 30 minutes of his time to walk me through a lot of the high level and detailed parts of this process. Having an honest and very objective input on this will be invaluable. If you plan on doing a build...

Steel buildings - what do I need to know?

Received a second response from another supplier. This one is interesting, they can build up to 60' wide span max for our specific location, and length is unlimited. No quote yet since we need 80 width, but if we reconfigure our operation I wonder if the savings would be worthwhile. Something...
