I like the idea of the steel top. I wanted a steel top but didn't know if I really needed it. I could always do one side of the bench steel top, the miter saw in middle, then right side wood top. The backsplash idea is definitely a MUST! Thank you for that.

I know that is right! Given the space I have to work around in the location I'm putting it, it is as big as I can make it. I have a bigger yard, but the location is maxed out.

Going to use a mix of a little bit of r-12 fiberglass I already have and spray foam.

Let me say that the car restoration is going to be limited to my VW kit car, a VW beetle, and maybe a 50's pickup in the future. The tractors I mess with are around 10-20 hp with a few 40-50 hp ones.
