Where to stop epoxy at/past garage door...?

Stop both the base coat and the flakes, or just the flakes? I’ve been in countless epoxy garages and never noticed!

Where to stop epoxy at/past garage door...?

I searched on this, figured lots of discussion on where you stop the flake on the garage floor. My concrete goes a good 6" past the door, so the flooring will be very visible where it meets the driveway. And of course, the flake colors we like clash with the garage door. Do you stop the flakes...

Maximizing clearance at opening, with tight ceiling

I get that. I just meant that a center opening could continue to pull the door farther than a side mount.

Maximizing clearance at opening, with tight ceiling

Got it. Yes, ours hangs just a bit lower when open, so maybe the springs need tightening to get it to that 6-8" point. I just remeasured, and it's at 6-5" open. I had been thinking that a center opener would "pull" the door up higher, and it might if the springs are not wound up enough. But if...

Maximizing clearance at opening, with tight ceiling

I like that low headroom illustration! That would be ideal. We do have a separate track for the top panel's roller. I've disconnected the opener, and the door goes up with about 6-8" of the lower panel still below the opening. That's just maybe an inch less than with the opener lifting it. I...

Pic of the drum/roller and clearance. It's pretty tight.

Maximizing clearance at opening, with tight ceiling

Thanks for the reply. We have torsion springs now, and the roller/drum is 4.5" diameter, and 0.5" from the ceiling. I like the pulley idea. If I understand correctly, we'd put them say 12" farther into the garage along the ceiling. That way the cables would pull the door farther along the...

Maximizing clearance at opening, with tight ceiling

Greetings all. Our garage (new build) has a low ceiling, about 7-9"+/-. The opening is 6-11". We had to use tight radius tracks and they appear to be as high as they can go. The roller is right up nearly against the ceiling. The opener is a side mount. Problem: the door hangs down well below...

How to make a boring floor?

This floor looks interesting. The floor of a Starbucks. Does it look like just stain and sealer?

How to make a boring floor?

Thanks, GF. That was my thought as well, given the reading I've done here. I was incorrect, with new concrete they clean it, and then say they "etch with a special bonding degreaser formula and scrub it".

Thanks. That might be a bit too boring. :-)

How to make a boring floor?

Long time reader, first time poster. So many of the floors in here are **** and awesome. In our new construction, I actually want boring. Partly because I may end up needing to run that same flooring into our adjacent basement which is the entry into the house from the garage. No way is the...
