How to remove one piece vinyl

I'll see if my hammer drill has a hammer mode. Also have an oscillating saw that I can put a scraper blade in. I've got about 170 sq ft so it would take more than a few pieces. And I hear pulling up the old with a million stabes in it ain't a walk in the park. Thanks, Pete

On wood? No thanks. If it was a concrete floor, OK

How to remove one piece vinyl

Thanks Guys! Dumb question, but what is an "sds" Mike? I know others often replace the underpayment but if you saw my kitchen which is as far from square or rectangular as you can get, you wouldn't think of removing and replacing the underlayment/1/4" plywood/Luan. And what's there now looks to...

How to remove one piece vinyl

Hi Guys, Haven't been here for a while but have gotten great advice in the past. Current project is a kitchen revival including new floor. Plan to install peel and stick vinyl tile, grouted, which I put in my basement about 10 years ago and looks great. Current kitchen floor is one piece vinyl...

    Anyone know what this is?

Hey thanks guys! Makes perfect sense as I know the former owner was a wood worker. Not sure exactly what it does or how it works but a little research ought to answer that. Thanks again! Pete

    Anyone know what this is?

This was in a box of stuff that came with an old drill press I got from a friend whose father had passed and who had been a wood worker. The stuff included old auger-type wood bits, paddle bits, files and rasps, etc. I don't know if this item is used with the drill press or ? No instructions...

    MAP and Propane torch question

Wow I had no idea things were so complicated! I'm trying to free a stuck tie rod end and have spent a lot of time with a propane torch to no avail. I hear lots of recommendations from the Land Cruiser crowd for MAP for burning out old spring/shackle bushings, freeing stuck parts, etc. Now that...

    MAP and Propane torch question

DUH! I saw MAP Pro and just thought that was a brand. So what exactly is MAP Pro, combo of MAP and propane? I need more heat than what I'm getting out of my propane torch. Thanks

    MAP and Propane torch question

hey Guys, Can I use the starter/tip off my propane torch to put on a new MAP gas cylinder? Everything is or will be Benzomatic. I see the MAP cylinder for $10 at my local store but the auto lighting tip for it is $40. I'd like to reuse my auto lighting tip on my propane torch on a new MAP...

    Deck board spacing or no

Hey Dave, Thought you lived in Mayview! If your lumber is wet, no spacing. See my later post for my experience in Urbana. You did a valve job on Porsche head for me years ago when you were on N. Cunningham.

    Deck board spacing or no

I just built a deck last fall in Urbana with no spacing and today I have a nice uniform 1/4" between deck boards. The main factor no one has mentioned is how wet or dry the PT lumber is when you build it. My PT yellow pine from Menard's was wet, very heavy. If it is dry and has been sitting...

Anyone on here a Motorsport mechanic? (bikes, quads etc.)

I don't think I've seen anyone mention snap ring pliers but you'll definitely need these. You can get a pair that does both external and internal and also ones that have interchangeable tips. The combo ones that do external and internal work OK but save your money on the interchangeable tip...

Anyone on here a Motorsport mechanic? (bikes, quads etc.)

I'll second the impact driver! I bought one for $10 when I lived in CA over 40 years ago to remove side covers from my Penton and have used it many times since,. Can't beat this tool for removing phillips head screws
