$4k isn't "a little money" to me too but I think his point was more along the lines of how much that $4k savings is going to cost you in the long run now. I'll cross my fingers that you get a satisfactory resolution.

Around my area in the mid-south, you can sometimes stumble across a "deal" or reasonable price. But for the most part, you can spot the GJ'ers that are flipping or selling off a restored vise...by the pictures and the price.;)

I too like mine. It easily folds flat so I can store it unobtrusively, is pretty solid, the dog holes and clamp cut outs work well. About the only thing I dislike is that the handle sticks out when unfolded and I've inadvertently bumped into it, knocking things to the floor.
