I'm talking mainly masonary, but all purpose drill bits as well. I see the reviews for Bosch's drill bits tend vary widely and I hear they are made in China and not meant to be great.
If I really need to grab something in close quarters—extremely rare—I'll just use my baby vice grips. The reason I replaced all my wrenches with one tool is I barely ever had need for them.
I just like to own only good products, if I can. I like using well made things and I like supporting companies who put a real effort into going the extra mile. Meticulous, would be one way to describe my personality.
I'm looking for something physically small but can still easily drill a 6mm hole in brick. DeWalt seem to be getting a lot of love. I want a case, not a bag, that I can fit in the top shelf of the new tool chest I've yet to buy. My wish is to have a toolbox with all or the vast majority of my...
What's the external dimensions of the Milwaukee M12 carry case, do you know? And if possible the weight of the case with everything inside. Thx
The M12 battery charger is far too big for me. I'd hate using that which is part of this drill owning experience.

Within reason—it needs to be good—the more compact the better.
I coincidentally planned on viewing a DeWalt in hardware store tomorrow; remembered a small and light DW with much torque. Good deal on price too.
And to others on this thread. If I needed to drill something really hard I'll rent...

This is what I'm looking to replace. It's held up successfully for me for years but now I want something a bit smaller and lighter.
Also, note I just spotted an 18v Black & Decker drill driver with hammer drill action option in local hardware store...
How would you define an impact driver? And would the 12v Makita you're describing be better for drilling holes around the house (sometimes, but not always in harder walls) versus my 24v MAC Allister drill/hammer-drill/screw cordless. It's last me years and still working fine, but it's a bit...
