One of the small downsides of aluminum -- for me, a dumping trailer the spring mounting bolts/nuts will not allow for the dump bucket to sit flush, some sort of risers would need to be added or cut out holes would be easier.
Looking nice.
Good point with wheels. Pretty sure I am going with a standard box on top of frame style dump made of steel. I will keep side walls at 12 inchs with the abililty to add hieght extensions.
Thanks ClintNZ -- Interesting -- but a drop axle no longer an option and the one I have is already set with spring under axle. I think I will rely on my Frankentug yard dolly once I rebuild it or completely start from scratch.
I agree with coma13 -- very much so a personel preference unless you are building for someone else then you build the way they want. I found this one over at WeldingWeb and very much the way coma13 describes it -- I like it more for the slatted top design but the build is neat and tidy...

Yes, trailer will be used off property.
No, I don't own a quad.
No list yet of needs and wants, just a vague idea that I need a dumper based on a couple of projects coming up this spring.

Thanks 1/2 Cup -- The more I read the more I am leaning towards the steel for the build, one becuase of the comments, 2 becuase of my experience working with it.
That plastic trailer reminded me of another plastic trailer, but for the life of me I could not find it again. It was a heavy...
Yah sorry -- I find it fasinating but I think I am gonna skip the glue - I have big trust issues in processeses that I do not see in mainstream life and I would have to buy alot more clamps and... I am never gonna get on an airplane again! :willy_nil
Kerrynzl --- The only glue I have heard of for metal is JBweld. It must have some etching ability to bond the metal together. What is the name -- if so much stronger then welding why is it not used more -- time for fabing, cost...
Nice over all -- the only problem I see if you still have the top opening upward and if you have a bunch of stuff on top and need to get something in there!
Good luck - I wanted to finish mine last weekend, still scrap on the floor.
Kerrynzl - -nice!!
Interesting about the weight factor - I am assuming you as mean it is stronger as well?
Why the folded edges on the panels if you have side wall supports?
How do you get a avtrailer galvinized? And what did it cost?
Thanks for sharing.
Hi GJ folks
I have been posting here only a short while -- I am starting a trailer build but have not made up my mind as to what I should build. I say I have started the build as I have already order my axle -- 5200lb 58" SC -- so a 5 by 8 footer.
My original thought was to do a light/medium...
