    Beach Tool box

Sure it’s a little tired, it’s been working its whole life 😀 Evaporust and Naval Jelly work wonders, bonus that the rivets are not rusted. Take it apart, clean it up, lubricate, take some autosol to the handles and rivets, and reassemble. Put that fella back to work! You don’t have to put tools...

That’s a great box to take home. Two Canadians icons in one. Nice score. I too was watching that box 😉 give it a good cleaning and enjoy using it for decades to come 😀

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

LOL! That is my 8-drawer box! That’s the configuration I bought with the full-sized mid. I read somewhere it was called the B28. I have two other Beach boxes that were not shown in the pictures above. That 8-drawer, and a Beach made Craftsman mid that is immaculate. To your second point, that...

Late to reply, but no, that Waterloo is not made by Beach. Beach boxes are great, I have a few myself. 😀

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

As my son would say . . . Ain’t that a really good Q. I have never been able to find a model number, nor have I seen it in any Beach catalogue (not that there are many Beach catalogues around). It is designed to hold the large, full sized, square-cornered, B29, 12-drawer box. I get the feeling...

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Last summer I saw an ad for these and drove a couple of hours to pick them up. The top box is a Beach B96 (6-drawer) and the bottom cabinet is a Beach B89 (12-drawer). These boxes are hard to date. There is a Beach catalogue that does not show the B96 (9-drawer) and B89 (12-drawer) boxes...

The Vintage New Britain and Associated Thread!

Hi OTG, Regarding Fors ratchets, FWIW below are a couple of CS41 I have. The first I can confidently date to early 50s, as it was sold in a Canadian Tire set where I reasonably dated the CT logo. The sockets in this set have the knurled band. The set has a satin finish. The second is later...

This really helpful Huck, thank you for the detail. I’m reconditioning a B96 and a B89 and several of the rivets are loose. I could use a centre punch, but I’m concerned about the domed tops flattening. When you set the rivets, what stops the domed head from flattening?

Show us Your Vintage Bench Grinders!!!!

Hello all, Picked this up a few days ago Black & Decker 8" Cat. 74 Type H 220v grinder. The right wear plate seems to be homemade, but I may have a replacement. Previous owner did a nice job with the eye shields. Stone on the right is basically new. I'll be removing the wire wheel. Made in...

Late to the party on your find. Beautiful box, Craftsman made by Beach. Terrific boxes and a great find. It’s so pristine I’d only use it to hold my balloons and feathers collection 😀 Only one draw back with these . . . they hold so much that they are insanely heavy when full! Not exactly...

It's just a rubber mat type thing. You can find them often at car parts places, even sometimes the dollar store.

Lots to like there OF! I’m diggin’ the deep bottom drawer of your B29, those were an option at the time. And those side boxes are rare as hens teeth around here, it’s a sweet addition. M.
