Change hard wired oil fired boiler to a plug and receptacle for power outages

All is well on The Western Front. The house is gone and the contractor sent the boiler to recycling. The fueling situation worked to about 10 years.

Change hard wired oil fired boiler to a plug and receptacle for power outages

My friend's 90 year old mother lived in a hot water heated house. He was always fussing over the high cost of Diesel fuel. I suggested that he burn his used oil from servicing his construction machinery. This worked out really well. The waste oil was being recycled, disposal cost went to zero...

Icon made in USA snap ring pliers

I bought a full set of SK convertible snap-ring pliers. I discovered that these pliers are the same as OTC, SnapOn and MAC. I do not have a picture, yet, to show this. The only difference is in the colour of the handles

Who would you consider to be the better of the Taiwanese tool makers?

I am of the mind that any of those companies can build High Quality as well as low quality. It depends on what their customer wants. Some of these big tool building companies build for many tool brands that we all have in our collections, Try to remember, build does not necessarily mean own.

Help me pick a service cart

I needed a side cabinet for longer pry-bars, so I built one. There was a demand 25 years ago. I retired 21 years ago. These are easy to fabricate. Give some thought to the correct order for the folds.

Help me pick a service cart

Hard to find used. I bought 2 in one afternoon for under $100. ($25 & $40) New these are $1700+ each. These are well designed, I got a great deal on used. I am not so sure I would lay out the big money for a new one of these. I sold the blue tool cart for close to a grand. I did a restore on the...

Making my bench mobile? Lifting castors?

I thought lifting castors were too expensive. I bought castors with brakes. You do not need brakes on all 4 castors. A caster with a brake, on each corner can guide the other caster on an end or side. I like to install a locking castor diagonally from each other. This works.

    Mat for a work bench??

I still have my HAMILTON drafting table. It has the wide drawer for blueprints and a Hamilton small 3 drawer cabinet that is bolted to the frame. Years ago, I upgraded to a VEMCO and retired the cable drive. I have a Franz Kuhlman drafting machine. It is about 60 years old. My daughter and I...

    Mat for a work bench??

I first saw PIG MAT on Adam Booth's channel. This product makes excellent drawer liner, and it absorbs better than anything I know of.
