Drill Press for metal and wood

Thank you all for your responses and guiding me off the mag drill route. Someone mentioned Delta or older models but it seems I can't seem to find the sweet deals like some of you guys come across. I will look for drill machines with variable speed and low RPM with high power.

Drill Press for metal and wood

I'm located in Canada and I need to get a drill press. Do you guys think its a good idea to get a mag drill and make a custom stand for it to be used as a drill press for most of the time. This way I can use it as a mag drill to drill metal and put it back on the stand to drill wood or metal...

Help me build some contraptions for adjustable lights and Exhaust/Fume Extraction

I'm trying to do two things. One is mounting an LED light on a swivel, articulating, adjustable arm. And second is come up with fume/exhaust extraction system. For lights, I want something like a medical light mount. The lights will be mounted on the ceiling and when I need them I can pull them...

Does it still make sense to buy 3/4 drive tools?

It certainly depends on what type of mechanical field you're in. I'm in Heavy Mining and I use 3/4" drive sockets daily along with 1" drive sockets. Also need to step it up to 1-1/2" drive for the larger nuts that require sockets up to 4-3/4" I don't think Automotive industry requires 3/4"...

    Toolbox for your room?

I have 2 Snap-on 72" roll cabs and I also had 2 mac-tools tool chest and roll cabs. I have given away one set of mac-tools chest and cab and I also gave away the chest for my other mac-tool roll cab. So now I have a spare mac-tools roll cab, it's about 32" wide and maybe 45" tall and 2.5' deep...

    Toolbox for your room?

I've got long Snap-on toolboxes in my garage, but I was thinking of putting a small tool chest in my computer room. So that I don't have to keep running to the garage to grab cold tools n the winter time. I'll keep most used tools i the house, like screw drivers, socket set, my electronic tools...

Post Pictures of any vehicles/tools/equipment or projects you worked on recently

I did mine about 2 weeks ago. I had disc brakes but the rotor was stuck on E-brakes. The e-brake shoes inside the rotor were too far in the groove, had to loosen off the star screw. Initially I thought the rotor was stuck on the hub so I went through various size of hammers/sledges before I...

Do you mean the physical size? well its quite big. It's two V12 engines coupled together making a 24cylinder engine that puts out 3550HP. This engine is the old style. It's been replaced by a V20 C-175 Engine.

was only able to get one quick picture of the install. Installed a 3524 engine into a 797B haul truck. Took out the old engine and placed it behind the truck. Rigged new one and installed.

3/8 battery impact, dewalt or milwaukee fuel 18?

Ingersoll Rand W5130 it's a 3/8" Drive with a slim battery that puts out 180 ft. lb. torque. I think if you get the higher amp battery it goes to 200 ft. lb. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009YGK9G6/?tag=atomicindus08-20

That is a good looking truck. Nice rims/tires. I've always wanted to get a 40s-50s vehicle like your truck and modernize it while still keeping the vintage look. For example on your truck I'd install HID projector headlights and led turn signals and led tail lights with dual exhaust. I'd paint...
