Studded snow tires are a lot cheaper than a heated driveway and you would have them with you wherever you go.

No need to spend that much, go to a wrecking yard and you should be able to pick up one for well under $100. Don't buy a "new" one, it is just that much more appealing to the thieves. It is a spare, it only needs to be good enough to get you to a proper repair facility, and if they do steal...
