    Tools from the old world

The tools are all made in Germany and I got the set on Ebay about 2-3 years ago for £25ish, which is around $40.

For the Belzer fans on here. A 3/8 6-Point Socket set: 6-19mm sockets, Ratchet, Breaker Bar and Extension Bar. In lovely condition and hardly used, and all for £16. Ebay is your friend. [/IMG] The four sockets at the front are later duplicates branded just 'Belzer'. This must be after...

Somebody on German Ebay as several insulated Belzer spanners/pliers for sale. I wish he shipped to the UK. I feel a growing urge to build a Belzer collection.

The ratchet as a blink-and-you've-missed-it stamp for EB tools. German I presume?

Post a picture of your ratchets!!

These are already up in the 'Old world tools' thread, but what the hell. 1000v insulated ratchets. Amount of use ratchets have seen - Zero!

For some reason it's got two 24mm sockets, but I'm not complaining. The obligatory Belzer screwdriver which came with the set. The Unior set was picked up for £41. It normally retails for well over £200. Knipex are Knipex, there's hardly ever anything to complain about.

Correct!! It was a real find (on ebay like everything else you've seen), no doubt not made any more and despite probably being the best part of 20 years old it had never been used. The ratchet says 'Germany' so I presume it's post reunification but I'm sure I've seen West German tools before...

Aforementioned Knipex pliers. And try and guess which brand this is? I'll post the rest of the set later.

Monte: Normally a conventional ratchet is taken and dipped in PVC insulation, but these newer ratchets have a specifically moulded hard plastic body instead. Unior, Gedore and Friedrich all sell these ratchets now which seem to be of identical shape and proportion. I wouldn't be surprised if...

Monte: Yes, I've got several Knipex pliers which have had good use. I'll post them tomorrow. I've also got some Facom insulated pliers which have barely been used, I'll get them up some time as well. Here's a Unior insulated socket set which I managed to get hold of about a month back.

In fact I'll give you these as well! Bernstein tools were mentioned by somebody right at the beginning of the thread. They do seem to be geared towards the electronic field more than anything else, so most of there tools are a little too small for my requirements - they look great though so...

I'm an Electrician, largely commercial builds - Although I've done precious little work this year with the economy being what it is. I've got plenty of more stuff to post (including a Beta insulated socket set).

And finally for tonight some Irazola Torx screwdrivers as well as a 12mm nut spinner, again going under the Roebuck name.
