Snap On FOD Ratchet Rebuild - Possible?

The locking drive is for FOD, use sockets with a detent hole and they're locked on until you depress the pin with something through the hole so the socket physically can't fall off in use. Also know as Loxit, or at least adjacent, which is used for 3/4 drive snap on ratchets/sockets which have...

    Need a 3/8" drive 1-1/2" 6 point shallow socket - Source?

Might look at low profile adapters too just for the odd sizes beyond. My set is a cheap Amazon set but they're about half as thick as a normal spinner ring adapter and don't have the extra space between the socket and ratchet to disassemble easily. Maybe 3/16-1/4 thickness added depending on...

Can I repair a floppy-head Craftsman flex ratchet, or is it rebuild time?

Might be able to use a longer spring or add a ball bearing underneath spring and possibly a washer on drift pin if it has slack between forks too. I have a 3/8 stubby flex and it has a ball bearing detent instead but the connection pin is broached so it's been practically impossible to fix...

Can I repair a floppy-head Craftsman flex ratchet, or is it rebuild time?

Is the pin a pressed "star end" broaching pin? If so apparently a 1 ton press isn't enough to do the job but theoretically you can press it out the way it went in. I've managed 1/2" pressed broaching pins but craftsman is apparently using 20 ton presses or something.

evapo rust wtf hard to find?

Just to add another review, switched to citric solution recently because a gallon of evaporust a month wasn't viable for current projects. It's the same process, chelation agent, so should work the same if neutralized and has been working just as well. Same smell(after first use, flat mountain...

Appreciate the recognition! I didn't want to be too obvious so I made sure to hide the jokes in plain sight, although that's kind of natural for my humour regardless. Not too surprising they didn't get any recognition prior to yours, nobody wants to read a paragraph much less a short storybook...

I have a few plumb bobs, modern and 1950s, and none of them are so massive nor have a blunt tip. This thing is practically a fancy door knob, larger in fact than an antique porcelain one. I have difficulty understanding where it would be functional or why it would be cast out of iron instead of...

Got another batch done. First a large kitchen knife with broken tip and heavy pitting on one side, rounded the tip and sharpened now although I don't have any purpose in mind. It was heavily crusted over on one side originally but evaporust made quick work of it. Mainly just something to clean...

    Show your new tool arrivals

Yeah, realized it's on the box too but it's the old style I guess instead of the more normal looking countersink drill bits. I guess kinda a spade bit version.

    Show your new tool arrivals

Picked up a Snap On ratcheting bit driver to try out and a bit set from Walmart that says it's German drill bits and Italian screwdriver bits. Case doesn't look great long term but bits might be decent, don't even know what the bottom 4 are for though. Not compatible obviously but drill bits are...

Railroad 6 foot adjustable wrench or clamp?

I'm still thinking Hargrave but found another potential brand. Not great visual overlap(upside down triangle but no current letter overlap) but I'll need to see about getting better pics of my stamp to try puzzling together if the remnants could potentially make some variation of this logo(maybe...

I think I had found pattern match with Google lense and it wasn't anything special. Might've been German but I don't remember. Edit: a couple of the same pattern listed as BSA Bantam kit tools but that's most likely just part/tool generalization due to convergent/parasitic evolution on either...

Probably last update from post #4752. Got a couple things left but nothing particularly interesting. One pair of interesting pliers but they don't appear to have any branding so probably just 90s-early 2000s import. First off I can finally take the wheels off the forklift. I just need 1485 rpm...

Cleaned up most of the interesting stuff. There's still a few bits but here's the main stuff in focus from post #4752. Probably won't post much else from the lot since most was basic stuff but drawknifes, crescent wrenches, and a few other bits will probably be shown in the final cleaning...

Around 2 gallons, plus a bit on top, should be ~46 pounds. Ebay used to be fun sometimes... Mail carrier wasn't happy though, they sent the 50+ year old mom volunteer so I had to grab it and the box was NOT rated for that weight. They wanted out and the clear tape wasn't gonna win the fight.
