    I found this chart, These are single phase motors so the columns at the right is what to look at. Going by the Chart the IBG-8 is putting out an actual 1 HP 11 amps at 115 volts or 5.5 at 230 volts. If the 8 amp is correct for the JBG-8A then it's actually putting out a little less than 3/4 HP...

    Posted ratings matter little. As I said in my first post is they are two different motors. The Chinese built one is a 115 volt only motor where as the Taiwanese Motor will operate off 115/230. Also if that 8 amp draw is to believed for JBG-8a it is a weaker motor compared to the 11 Full load...

    The IBG-8 draws 11 amps operating at 115 volts and 5.5 amps operating at 230 volts. I could not find an amp rating for JPG-8A. Some here are saying the JPG-8A pulls 8 amps, I can't verify it.
