Mike, random question for you, what brands and models of screwdrivers do you use and prefer? I’m tired of the crappy old craftsman ones I have (mine are even the old USA variety) and ready for an upgrade—but not sure what to get or where to get it.

Not to derail this too much but I had hired a landscape company to help me out with some grading work and when I asked about winterizing my system (blowing the lines out) he said it’s not necessary with the modern heads (or at least the ones I have, just the generic rainbird? ones they sell at...

I thought code in “marine 4” zone is R20 for walls? I’ve seen similar insulation in the building around here and heard it’s effectively R21. Splitting hairs probably but just curious. Heck my house has R13 and it works just fine in this mild climate.

Wow that’s a lot! How many times per week do you water? I’ve been doing mine at night (3am) to minimize evaporation; when do you water?

Really nice looking place you’ve created. Awesome! Curious on the lawn watering, how often do you water, how long and approx how many gallons does your system use in a typical watering cycle? I live up in the PNW, so it’s a different climate with different soil but I’m curious. I moved from...

What type of funnel or setup do you have for filling the transmission? I had a heck of a time with my wife’s Honda Accord being that the fill point is “way down there” and quite small. I cobbled something together but would like to find the right tool for the job next time.

Do you have any plans for something at the base of the tree (like say a bark circle with some type of curbing?). I ask because trees in the yard are always a pain to mow around. The bark kinda helps but then it gets all mixed in with the grass and is a pain. I’m just looking for a better way...

Your English is great, but some of these concepts are new to me. I’ve never seen anything like that here in the US. Most people I know just have interior blinds or curtains or both. But then again I grew up in Alaska and spent my life in the northwest so what do I know... :)

That’s a lot of foam! How is it secured to the exterior? Can you explain the shutter boxes... is there an exterior shutter that parks up inside the box? If yes what’s the shutter look like? (I’m picturing a rolled up system that looks like a mini commercial garage door?) Google is failing me...

Maybe I missed it, what did you do (or plan to do) to seal up the floor after cutting out the spare tire well?

Nice job! So.... if say your fillet welds weren’t so nice (like mine) how would you go about blending/smoothing them? I really haven’t found a good tool yet to do so.

Nice job! Good to see you got everything aligned well enough that the extensions slide in and out. A friend of mine tried to make a “dual” receiver hitch once for a carrying a rack and had the hardest time with that. It slid in and out fine...as long as you had a sledgehammer handy.

I lived in PA for a few years and a basement under the garage seemed somewhat common. On my house they set a series of steel beams across the basement wall, each with a central post. Then they put corrugated tray on top, filled with concrete to form the base of the main garage floor. I liked...

That’s a pretty interesting foundation. Can you explain why this (waffle slab) is needed vs just a single perimeter footing?
