28½ years as a Radio Technician with Airserices Australia ... 4 years of trade training, almost 11 years as an aviation ground equipment installation technician, and almost 14 years as a technical instructor on the same equipment. Made redundant in 2000 while overseas on vacation (time off my manager demanded I take) so my manager could get a pay rise for meeting his "reduce staff cost" performance indicator. Found out about my redundancy just an hour or two before the appeal deadline closed, while I was in transit back from Peru with no way to do anything about it. No, I'm not at all BITTER. Why would you think that?
