No matter what bits you decide to buy learn to sharpen them. I know how to sharpen a drill bit by hand but my Mother in law got me a Drill DR. For Christmas one year. A small learning curve but once I had it it stays out on the bench for daily sharpening of bits, it's a nice bit(pun intended ;)...
Flare nut wrenches are for fittings such as brake and hydraulic lines which usually don't need a high torque..ie...hand tight then one flat. Crows feet are for fasteners such as nuts or bolts.
Here's the way I look at it. I bought a set a while back when a store was clearing them out. I added them to the socket drawer in my toolbox. Haven't used them but I HAVE them just in case.

I've usually just used my hands, the ones in my house and my in-laws and my neighbors etc..haven't been that tight. I think once I've gotten out my BFPC(big freaking pair of channel locks).
BTW..I'm not a big guy nor am I freakishly strong.
I picked a 4 piece pry bar set a couple of years ago. Big pass....the handles popped off but I epoxied them back on and so far they've stayed on. I've flat abused them and for 10 bucks it was a deal.
I also bought an air cut off tool and it works better than my snap-on one. It's in the tool box...
Hazet wrenches are like the German equivalent of Craftsman. I have a ton of them from when BMW actually gave you wrenches in the tool kits of the Airheads. My favorite wrench for adjusting the valves on a Boxer Twin BMW is my Hazet 10MM box end.
