I have a new 12" Alligator that I didn't get from Lowes. I'd like to trade for a 5piece.

The design is a Knipex Cobra ripoff. They are made in China. They are a definite upgrade from cheap T&G pliers. If you like the push button design, check out the Knipex, they should only be a little bit more.

Craftsman has their universal/splined 1/4 sets for $10.99. They are made in Taiwan. The sockets use a regular ratchet. You can see them here on their deals page.

I just bought a set and thought to share this. 8-18mm but not 13mm.

Thanks for all of the responses. I ended up purchasing this shallow set for under $26 on ebay. The seller states that they are USA made. I'll keep a lookout for 6pt deep sockets. I can always upgrade to usa craftsman set.

At my Lowes the first people I talked to didn't have a clue. Then someone asked the tool guy and he showed me where they were doing it. There was only one tool in the trade box, until I threw in a t&g that I got at a dollar store 10 years ago and have hated since. They had trouble ringing me...

I have this stand which I like very much. There are better ones out there , but this is a great value.

Alternatively, for a little more $, I could get a set of SK shallow splines and a Craftsman deep 6pt.
