I just came across this post while searching.

I think I'm going to give the abs pipe ring compressor a try. I guess I need to block the pistons so that they are sitting at the same height and hopefully...
Can anyone point me to a procedure for reinstalling the cylinders on the pistons? I've looked around, but I haven't found anything. Maybe I'm just not hitting the right search terms. What ring compressor should I use, and do I do them one at a time, or both at once? Thanks.
Thanks for the link. It pressurized the crankcase enough that the top of the dipstick breather blew off. So, it made me think too much. I suspected rings, but it really didn't seem too bad when I tore it down. I did notice the torn gasket pointed out by @The Cobbler and I don't think I did that...
My compressor recently ran away due to a blown hose that was left connected until the pressure switch overheated and threw the breaker. When I started it back up, it built pressure but it was pressurizing the crank case. Here are some pictures from the teardown. I'm not sure where I should be...
I checked for vacuum leaks and checked the jets. Everything looked fine, but it was still the same thing. I turned this screw a quarter turn clockwise and now it has been running fine.
Everything checked out. No issues with fuel supply or carb. Plug looks good. Air filter is good. Same thing. Only runs with choke on. It has something to do with the change in temperature. It ran fine yesterday when it was warm out. I'm going to start randomly adjusting screws. I really don't...
I am in north Alabama. The temps dropped last night and the power is out. Yesterday it was almost 70 degrees. I tested the generator and everything was fine. It sat and ran for half an hour with no problem. This morning with the temps below 30 it will barely stay running with the choke on. If I...
I just wanted to do a quick follow-up on this bench. After putting 3 coats of BLO on it and allowing that to cure, I put the bench in service. Then I had a conversation with a friend that I hadn't talked to in a while who works for an industrial coatings company. He told me about a product they...
Thanks everyone. I'm excited about having the ability to work on projects without having to go out of the house for the first time in my life. Not to mention the basement should stay relatively cool in the summer. A while back I was looking at how I wanted to layout the basement garage. After...
I totally agree about addressing the leaks on the outside. I think a lot of the issues were from the gutter downspouts getting blown back toward the house when the wind was just right. I extended all the downspouts to the ground and dug some very small ditches with a hoe and shovel. So far that...
