    60/80 Gallon Air Compressor Question

Thanks for the responses. I assumed that would be the case but was curious if a built unit could exceed the performance (cfm output) of a purchased unit at similar price point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    60/80 Gallon Air Compressor Question

I saw a post where someone mentioned taking a water heater tank and building an air compressor with a Harbor Freight Pump and 5hp motor. Now, I’m not interested in using a water heater tank but if you had the ability to get a genuine air compressor tank at a low cost, Would you outfit it the...

    Craftsman Drill Press

regarding the motor, what would you all do? Keep it because you have it or exchange with a 1750 RPM (I think that's what came on the these originally) motor? Would you buy new or purchase a vintage one? If vintage, where do you look? I do not need and crazy high speed RPM's for anything...

    Craftsman Drill Press

Re: The Classic Craftsman 100/150 Drill Press Well, As promised, here is is. Based on reading thru this thread, it is clear the motor is not original. Everything seems to work well, except for the quill return spring. I have to manually rotate it down and up. As some point I will figure...

    Craftsman Drill Press

Re: The Classic Craftsman 100/150 Drill Press Yes I did buy and yes, I probably overpaid. Unfortunately for me I have not had time to mess around with it since I unloaded from my trailer. Right now we are in the middle of All Star baseball with our son and, for anyone who's is or has been...

    Craftsman Drill Press

Re: The Classic Craftsman 100/150 Drill Press Good morning, based on the size of this thread, I am sure this has been discussed but I am a little pressed for time and hoping for a little help. I happened upon a Craftsman 150 that I am going to look at during lunch today. It appears to be...

    Epstein's Day 2016?

HJE is absolutely the best vendor I have ever dealt with. My only complaint is from last years Epsteins Day, when they shipped my order to my house instead of my office. My wife got home first and I got busted. Hard! It's all good, I think she has forgiven me and unfortunately (for her)...

Millermatic 211 with Autoset (transformer powered model) OR new Esab Rebel 215ic EMP Welder

When I purchased, especially bigger ticket items, I do my follow a couple of rules: 1. When possible... Buy American. That doesn't mean it MUST be 100% sourced domestically but I do want my purchase to benefit American businesses and their employees. 2. Buy quality products...

Millermatic 211 with Autoset (transformer powered model) OR new Esab Rebel 215ic EMP Welder

Man. I had not considered a different country of origin. Made in USA is a big deal to me as well. Are all Millers made overseas now? What about Esab or Lincoln? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Millermatic 211 with Autoset (transformer powered model) OR new Esab Rebel 215ic EMP Welder

My reasoning, whether accurate or not, is a New model 211 is powered by an inverter, versus traditional transformer. Seems like a large change to a platform and could be considered a completely new unit altogether. I am not yet sure if the new model is as good out the outgoing version in terms...

Millermatic 211 with Autoset (transformer powered model) OR new Esab Rebel 215ic EMP Welder

The only thing I like about the autoset feature, or a competitors equivalent, is that I am relatively new to welding and the assistance with set up does relieve a little stress when getting started. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Millermatic 211 with Autoset (transformer powered model) OR new Esab Rebel 215ic EMP Welder

I may have to consider other options as well. I will look into the Hobart 210. Maybe a comparable Lincoln model not yet determined. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Millermatic 211 with Autoset (transformer powered model) OR new Esab Rebel 215ic EMP Welder

Second problem is finding one. I want the older model powered by a transformer. Not bashing inverter technology, by any means, I just like the capability to hold larger spools plus, frankly, I don't like how the new 211 looks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
