Welding cart I completed, it took me about 4 months. brand new welders needed a new home. It's all Jody's fault (welding tips and tricks) and the power cord is long enough to get the cart in the alley out back.

I was planning the same thing but as an island 2 big boxes and 4 side boxes back to back with a thick sheet of steel on top with a place for long stock in between the boxes lengthwise

another thought after reading your last post you know that it being a "bench Lathe" you could get a couple of bench height tool boxes (similar to lista) and put a metal tray on top of that and have a place for all the bits and pieces that "will follow you home" for the lathe.
