While they (and I) may be using the terminology wrong, I'm quite sure that what Emporia intends this product for is what is commonly used in the US, not a century-old technology.

The existing, smaller garage door on the front had to come out (tracks would run into the tracks for the door around the corner) so it got a man door, 2 windows, and a sliding door to keep it from looking like just a random hole in the side.

The basic Emporia Vue for $100 does what you want, just monitors total usage. Every country has 2 phase-- that means 220V service which comes into your breaker box as 2 opposite phase 120V circuits and a neutral. A single breaker gets 110V between one of the phases and neutral. A double breaker...
