New Garage - Lean-To Design Question

Update on the lean-to: We still have some small things to tidy up, but the garage and lean-to are up and finished! We ended up not following the same pitch as the roof or tying the lean-to into the trusses. The tie-in point ended up about 1’ down from the top of the garage wall, giving it...

New Garage - Lean-To Design Question

You have basically hit the nail on the head with what we’ve decided to do, except it will be 7’ at the lowest point!

LOL. Definitely no RV's. Thanks for the input, and for the sketch!

New Garage - Lean-To Design Question

Awesome sketch! The trusses are actually running the other way though, same direction as the house's. That's the main thing that I'm trying to decide on: do we tie the lean-to onto the end of the garage trusses, or tie into the siding just beneath the trusses?

New Garage - Lean-To Design Question

Thanks for the input! We do already have the trusses, and are beginning to set them today.

New Garage - Lean-To Design Question

That is exactly what I have in mind for the BX storage, with the implements stored on the end closest to the house. Thanks for the input on where to tie-in!

New Garage - Lean-To Design Question

Hey Zim. Yes sir, two windows.

New Garage - Lean-To Design Question

Increasing the pitch could be an option as well, given the height, as you pointed out. For clarification, the walls are 10', and there's about 2' of foundation at the lowest point. As for typical storm direction, most of the time they are coming from the direction that the first 2 pictures were...

New Garage - Lean-To Design Question

Good morning! We are in the process of building a garage next to our house, and are looking to go ahead and build a lean-to on the back of it. The intended use of the lean-to will be to park our Kubota BX under, as well as store attachments, and any other small equipment we have. See attached...

    Concrete Slab Pour Issue

Yes, that is where I’m at on it. Even if the issue doesn’t get addressed, I’m sorely disappointed that there isn’t any acknowledgement of error on the supplier side. I’m not a concrete expert, but I have no idea how you can say that there was not a problem of some sort with the mix.

    Concrete Slab Pour Issue

Yes sir. I did get the tickets from the drivers, but they don’t lost all of the batch details. I will see if I can get them from the salesman. The tricky part of this is that I work for this company. It’s a large building materials company, and I work in the office in another division. I’m not...

    Concrete Slab Pour Issue

That’s my understanding as well, but I’m being told that isn’t an issue.

    Concrete Slab Pour Issue

Weather was around 70 degrees, sunny, and almost no wind. Max wind gust that day was 3mph. We did not add water once it was off the truck, no. No cold joints between trucks. Slab elevation does matter, unfortunately. So I’m not sure that would be an option.

    Concrete Slab Pour Issue

Update: I was finally able to speak to the salesman yesterday and he visited the slab this morning. He informed me that the batch tickets from both trucks are the same, and that the raised areas are structurally sound. Therefore, there’s nothing he can do at this point. If it were his slab, he...

    Concrete Slab Pour Issue

Thanks for the information, @ConCretin! To answer your questions, I do not recall if the drum was turning when the truck arrived. He pulled in while we were finishing up with the first truck. The plant is approximately 14 minutes away. With where the areas are located, I can probably live with...
