WTB: Craftsman Pedestal Stand Motor Mounts

I'm building dust collection shrouds for my grinders. I think I have it figured out how to mount them using Craftsman motor mounts. I have a couple on pedestal stands and the others are on bench top drill presses where the head was trashed (or got transferred to a floor stand, in one case)...

    Vintage Toolbox Color Options

I'm fond of this color combo. It's a Huot box from before they became lemmings and started painting everything red. Medium blue with gray drawers.

    Vintage tape measures

Anyone have an idea on the age of this Lufkin? Can't find anything on the interwebs. Bought it at ArnFest last weekend, NOS in the box, taken from a nearly full 12-pack stocking carton.

    Hobbymat Lathes

"All" your lenses might be a mistake. Many digital cameras can be adapted to use vintage lenses. I have adapters for my Sony digital camera to use vintage Canon, NIkon and Olympus lenses. My little Sony has focus highlighting, which works with the vintage lenses. Of course, auto-focus doesn't...

    Walker Turner drill press

You may want to pursue a 3-phase motor and VFD, but I wouldn't put much effort into the one pictured. 860 rpm is half what the pulleys on the press are set up for. You want a 1725 rpm motor. Also, if my 5 minutes of research are correct, that motor is designed to be in a HVAC system in direct...

A Day in the Spotlight for a Craftsman Mohawk Drill Press

I used my Mohawk drill press for some photos for a new product we launched at Woodpeckers. The old gal is pretty photogenic. Some more images on the product page: https://www.woodpeck.com/dp-pro-tcs-drill-press-table.html

Power switch question for DP 220

The "factory" switch is reliant on having a "factory" motor. The push rod is specifically designed for the wiring box size and location of the Delta motor. That's not to say a reasonable facsimile couldn't be made. After all, it's just mild bent rod. I had to grind down the stem of a new toggle...

Pics of Craftsman Pedestal Mounted Tools

Funny...there's one of these in Power Bronze on FBM here in NEO. I was thinking about pointing it out to you, but...too late!

    Rockwell/Delta 10" Tablesaw Compatibility-Are these fences interchangeable?

Those should be pretty close to the same. The second one is a few years newer. I don't see the rails in the photos, and that is a serious concern. Those chrome plated round rails are the most unique feature of the Jet Lock rip fence, and you'll need them for that fence to work. Check the bolt...

    Craftsman drill press original?

Historical accuracy? Just curious why you would replace a keyless chuck with a keyed one. I have a Delta keyless chuck from the late 30s on my Delta Radial. I put new Jacobs keyless on my my vintage 14" Delta. I love keyless chucks. Maybe there's something about them I don't know, but at least...

    Vintage tape measures

My favorite daily carry tape broke today. It's a Stanley PowerLock 12' 1/2" wlde...nothing special but it fits the little change pocket of my jeans and I barely notice I'm carrying it. I can get the same thing again, and might. But I thought I would check here and ebay and see if I can find...

Cleveland Jeff's 1958 Cast Iron Craftsman Grinder Restoration Thread

Another quick update. I visited Frank Lee's shop a couple months ago when I picked this grinder up. He had used table top drill press bases, columns and tables as grinder stands and elevated them by putting them on a pallet-like sub-base. I thought the idea was worth stealing, so I did. I...

Curious…does anyone restore automotive car lifts?

I'll be watching with interest. I have very fond memories of cars and pick-ups going up on the in-ground lifts at my neighborhood Standard Oil station. That monstrous hydraulic cylinder rising up out of the floor always fascinated me.
