    Binks Lo-boy air compressor rebuild

I did find a parts source but didn’t end up ordering any this time since we got it running without them.

    Binks Lo-boy air compressor rebuild

Hi! It is back running with a careful tear down and cleaning up the crank. It looks like it was run out of oil and seized up but it’s running well now. The power switch just stopped working so I need to find a toggle to replace it with that’s rated for the 24 amps at 120 volts.

    Binks Lo-boy air compressor rebuild

Thanks for the tip! I got the photos to work for everyone now I think. This little tank has about the biggest motor and pump I can imagine stuck on top. Once I get it running right I would like to see about installing the electric pressure switch so it won’t run constantly.

I looked at the pump plate again and it looks like this might be a Quincy 214-1.

    Binks Lo-boy air compressor rebuild

I bought a Binks Lo-Boy air compressor yesterday. Turns out the pump was seized. Its torn it down and I think I could use a new connecting rod and wrist pin for one cylinder and rings for both since it’s apart. It is a Binks 33-522 on the pump nameplate. Does that cross reference to a Quincy or...

    Identifying OLD Miller welder

New update: Those of you who said the old Miller belongs in a museum can apparently predct the future. It is going to a "collection" in exchange for credit toward a new Miller. The person who wants it is a big Miller fan. In telling a relative this story, he gave me an extra Lincoln AC225 of his...

    Identifying OLD Miller welder

I believe it weights at least the 215 lbs the specifications say that it should. I used a cherry picker to unload it from the back of the pickup.

    Identifying OLD Miller welder

The guy at Miller emailed me this info on the welder today. I'm impressed he kept after it as long as he did! http://www.pdf-archive.com/2015/05/15/om-model-a-model-aa/preview/page/1/ The link will take you to a 3 page PDF.

It did come with what look like the original leads. The wire appears to be a more recent replacement.

    Identifying OLD Miller welder

Here is the email back from Miller: I apologize for the late response but I’ve spent the last few days looking for information on this machine. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to locate an owner’s manual for this product. (Even the old timers still working here didn’t recognize this machine.) I...
