Best single edge razor blade scraper?

I ended up with the Lisle 52000 and the Mueller Kueps 268 422 razor scrapers. Both are nice and work well. The Mueller Kueps model is a bit pricey (Zoro w/20% discount helped) but it has a very good handle. Razor retention is quite secure with both of them. Although, minimal use to date. Thanks...

    Bearing puller

The Harbor Freight unit failed on the first try when I rebuilt the rear axle on my Sierra. The replacement OTC unit worked great.

Good ball joint / tie rod end separator?

Thanks. Mueller Kueps 609 033 ball joint separator kit. This worked great for my F-150. Used on the upper ball joint and the tie rod. I preferred not using the large hammer on the aluminum steering knuckle.

Local, independently owned old-timey tool stores

Since this post I did end up ordering a number of Proto sets, an ATD hub removal tool, and some Ullman pieces. Tim Jr. at Lakeshore has been helpful in acquiring the tools of interest. I've come back a few times with more items to order. It is challenging as there are long lead times these days...

What would your "90% box" look like?

Well, not a tool kit but here's a Heyco hex bit socket from the same era. Made in West Germany.

    Worst impact sockets?

SI set of impact sockets from Buffalo Tools and SAE set of impact sockets from Harbor Freight purchased in the early 1980s. The markings are identical. Chrome vanadium steel for both of them. They lasted without failure. Although, Proto SI and SAE impact sockets sets have been acquired recently...

Got it with the old Harbor Freight ones also.

    Jack Stand Recommendations

This year I decided to upgrade my jack stands. A Harbor Freight 6 ton, no. 757, four piece set has been used since 1986. Upon looking through the many postings at garagejournal over the years these were what I settled on. First, four ESCO 3 ton flat top stands, no. 10498 were acquired. These...

    Howdy from DRPD!

Thanks. I put in my first order for some PB Swiss screwdrivers. Quick delivery and good packaging as others noted. Without a doubt I will be ordering more tools from my wish list in the near future.

    Safety of Jack Stands

The Harbor Freight units have been around since the mid 1980s. They've served me well.

    Safety of Jack Stands

Here's my old set. On rare occasions I use them to hold something light like a lawn mower. These were acquired around the late 1970s or early 1980s.

Harbor Freight jack and jack stands?

I've been happy with the Hein Werner 3 ton jack which I acquired in 2009. The jack stands are Harbor Freight 6 ton units from the mid 1980s (M/N 757, 16"-25" h & 11"x11" base).
