    Actually, higher temps accelerate the chemical reaction that deteriorates batteries. Cool temps seem to kill batteries because batteries and their related systems are more sluggish in the cold or batteries are often unused/under maintained over winter.     OP, it sounds like you have a great attitude about work, dealing with problems and prioritizing the right things. Stop-gap measures are sometimes entirely adequate to meet needs. More complete solutions can be put in place when time, priorities and resources allow. Keep up the good work!

    10 drawers in the HD box v 16 drawers in the HF toolbox makes the HF a clear winner for me. i love the three small drawers in the HF box, they're terrific for small tools and measuring devices. The skinny drawers below that are great for screwdrivers, pliers and 1/4" drive stuff.
