Does Mac Tools have anything that is super great?

1/4" drive air ratchets. I have the ar251. It gets used every day at work and is about 8 years old now and has never had to be rebuilt. These are the best.

    New Car Question

Does it even matter if it's going to be covered under warranty anyway?

    must have alignment tools?

I use these alot. You can grip extremely tightly with them on inner tie rod ends. http://store.snapon.com/Pliers-Wrench-Wrench-Adjustable-Pliers-1-3-4-jaw-capacity-P640879.aspx Also use this wrench on GM fullsize trucks for adjusting camber & caster. It is extra long so it offers great...

Pull the trigger? Williams 12pc ratcheting wrench set (flex head, reversible, 8-19mm)

I have no experience with the williams, but I own 2 sets of the Blackhawks and they are very nice. They hold up well also. I have had my first set for about 9 years and have yet to warranty one. These get used daily in an automotive shop environment.

    Trans flush machine

I'm still not seeing your correlation of changing trans fluid with a flush machine via transmission cooler lines = transmission problems, but changing transmission fluid by dropping the pan = no transmission problems.

    Trans flush machine

Why would there be dirt inside a transmission? And rmc115 is right. You still need to check the fluid level when you are done.

Tool Set for a new auto tech

Forget the lineman pliers - I've never seen anybody use them in an automotive shop By universal sockets, get the ones with swivel joints for 3/8 & 1/2 drive. The impact style. He will use them way more than the chrome ones except for 1/4 drive. I use the chrome universal joint ones more for...

    snapon vs matco air hammer

SKAutomotive is right about this. The majority of auto technicians (who use these every day) will also agree with him. The Snap ON PH3050 is a great air hammer.

Whats a good (cheap) freon Leak Detector ?

Call around to local auto repair shops. Most will have one sitting on a shelf collecting dust that they would probably sell. Everyone uses dye and UV lights to find leaks now.

    Aircat impact

I had one. Worked fine for about a year and then lost some power. I replaced it with a Matco MT1769(Same as Ingersoll Rand Titanium). I was using it at work everday, so it got a workout. I still use it at home, just wasn't good enough for use on a production level.
