    The Abrasive Blasting Resource Thread

I'm wondering what kind of gauge you'd put to measure the suction, or how it's measured. Some sort of manometer? I did have some progress though. I think my gun did have too much pressure. I remembered that my buddy who had the cabinet before me had a smaller compressor. All this time I've...

    The Abrasive Blasting Resource Thread

I am just seeing this reply. I have a Primefit 3/8"Desiccant Air Dryer and Oil Remover (80CFM) . However I'm in so-cal and it doesn't get that humid here. How do you measure the gun's vacuum? Part of me wonders if it is pulling too much air, or not enough.

    The Abrasive Blasting Resource Thread

I'm starting to bang my head against the wall trying to figure out a Snap On sand blast cabinet. It's a smaller cabinet (Similar to the YA435 but with a side door and a lid that opens vs the cabinet opening like a clam), hoses are not clogged yet I'm barely able to get media through the blast...

    Debris cabinet for bench buffer?

I finally got around to building a buffing cabinet out of some spare old wood I had lying around. I hope to upgrade the buffer someday so I made the cabinet a bit wide.

    Debris cabinet for bench buffer?

Thanks gang. I didn't think about jewelry polish... I'm a motorcycle builder guy! My jewelry comes in nuts and bolts. ;) The prices on these examples are pretty steep. I'll probably build something using those as examples, like suggested in the thread above.

    Debris cabinet for bench buffer?

I'm curious if anybody built a cabinet to go on top/behind a bench buffer (or grinder). I don't want polishing compound or other debris shooting all over my wall behind the buffer. Looking for ideas on what to build instead of using a cardboard box.

Air Compressor accessories needed? Oiler? Dryer? Drain Kit?

I saw that but I have a feeling that happened after I removed it. It's been kicking around my garage since I pulled it off and my garage isn't exactly clean. I was grinding all sorts of metal to make my own pressure regulator bracket, etc.

Air Compressor accessories needed? Oiler? Dryer? Drain Kit?

This is what came out of the bottom of my IR compressor that I have since replaced. You spend all that money and something stupid like this fails. It would not close using my fingers, then with a wrench... still air pissed out. Annoying.

Air Compressor accessories needed? Oiler? Dryer? Drain Kit?

Great advice everybody. I'm a bit frustrated with Ingersol Rand as the drain valve broke after the first use and would not seal up. And the regulator they sold me is expensive, and massive, and does not come with a mounting bracket. You have to call them to find the bracket and it's $30. I'm...

Air Compressor accessories needed? Oiler? Dryer? Drain Kit?

Thanks guys. Can oil go backwards into the lines with an oil lubricator? I was planning on using one at an outlet or two but I'll skip it if it is safer. This statement had me scratching my head: It sounds like avoiding a drain kit and diligent draining is the trick. The Maxline tubing kit...

Air Compressor accessories needed? Oiler? Dryer? Drain Kit?

I've read previous threads but still scratching my head... I moved recently and have a decent sized garage for motorcycle building. Finally. I got a 60gal Ingersoll compressor with 18CFM and a max PSI at 135. I'm currently starting my run my 3/4 Maxline tubing throughout the garage. -I plan...

    Noob compressor question re: filter/regulator

I have a similar question. I have a 60 gallon compressor I just installed. I plan on running hose and outlets around the garage for basic air tools and tire fillers, etc. However I do have a sandblast cabinet (snap on) that requires 18cfm. My compressor can handle it but I'm wondering...

How to Clean decades of paint off a stainless bench top?

Sorry the amount of paint disappointed many of you but the paint that is on there has been there a LONG time. Thanks for the tips though. I build motorcycles so I want the cleanest surface I can get. I want to avoid any sort of abrasives. I did 2 rounds of Easy Off and some of it came...

How to Clean decades of paint off a stainless bench top?

I inherited this 8 foot stainless work bench top however one side of it has a variety of paints on it. Looking for suggestions on how to get the paint off without damaging the stainless. I did a test with mineral spirits and it does have an effect, but at that rate I’d be scrubbing for a week...

    Tips for installing ceiling insulation

Here is what I have going on. An attic ladder going up to the loft above the garage. Insulation in the garage. Plywood floor which acts as a ceiling to the garage. Drywall where it is visible to cover the insulation near the stairs, and foam for the rest of the loft to cover the insulation...
