    Ebay or Auction Deals Permathread!

    Dave/nynexit: That's a great price! Unfortunately I'd really miss that 14mm socket. I'd gladly give up the 10mm [Who uses a 1/2" drive for a 10mm socket anyway?] for a 14mm.

    Cap question.

Typical run cap is what my esteemed colleague Lightning rod is trying to say.

    Cap question.

Usually a start capacitor has a uF rating that is larger than a run cap by several multiples (i.e. 7.5uF vs 55uF). If you have a cap that has single- or low double-digits for its uF rating, odds are that it's a run cap. Usually in a high starting torque application (such as a compressor), the...

Yes, in that you know their ebay username. But nothing else. No. However, the person whose offer you declined could make you another offer for the same amount you originally declined.

Us General Toolboxes now in color!

On the series 2 top chests (at least in the 44" size) the finger latches have been replaced with pull latching and replaceable detents. Here is a photo of the rail itself and a closer view of the detent. Unfortunately, the Series 2, 5-drawer 30" mechanic's service carts still have those...

    Harbor Freight Pittsburgh Pro Ratchets

Yes it is. I find it has become my favorite in most instances. I like how I can adjust it for maximum leverage in every instance.

Wright 3430 Ratchet - Quick Review

If you only need it occasionally, Autozone has one under their Duralast brand that is a sealed unit. The head is positively TINY. It's been posted here on GJ before. They run $20. I used some rewards points to get mine. Not a flex head though.

    1/2 in 3/8 ratchet

I know I have done this before. Perhaps I only dropped the anvil into the head and didn't bother to try inserting the c-clip as you did. I stand corrected, thank you. The thing I still find fascinating is that essentially the same size insert is used for both 3/8 and 1/2 ratchets. It's a...

    1/2 in 3/8 ratchet

The New Britain Kilness style ratchets have the same size head, regardless of whether it’s 3/8” or 1/2” drive. You can transplant a 1/2” anvil into a 3/8” body, no problem. Just make sure you match the tooth count (45 or 60). EDIT: Apparently my assertion was wrong, as proven by tool_scounge...
