    Not to beat a dead horse, but yes, a hard pull can take anywhere from 20 to 30 points off of your credit score ( also depending which credit bureau ). That's anywhere from 2-4 months of recovery time actively building your credit. Big deal. Number of inquiries matter as well.

    It's your responsibility as a snap-on dealer to let potential buyers know about the credit check. Just finished speaking to Snap-on's credit department, all thats left is a letter requesting an inquiry lift off of my credit report and my signature and done. It's still impressive, 2/2 bad...

    The social # and the drivers license number had been given to the Matco/Mac sellers, I just had an assumption it was over precautionary measures incase I dipped out on work and their tab. So i never questioned it going to the snap-on truck.

    I've had previous experience with the matco/mac trucks, provide SSN, provide drivers' license number, buy a tool(s), put money down, pay weekly. No credit line pulled. Second time on the snap-on truck, I picked up a 1/4 ratchet, three days later I get a credit impact alert from my Capital One...
