Did your new truck not come with block off plugs for the tailgate wiring? There was a separate bag of connectors in my glovebox specifically to seal those when I remove the tailgate. They are dummy plugs but seal like the main connectors and keep the dirt and water out.

Amazing build. Perhaps I missed it somewhere, are you painting / coating the concrete walls?
