What the heck is this thing?

Kind of looks like it's connected to whatever is sitting on top of the light of your opener. Looks pretty sketchy.

Seeking info on Husky Pro Made in Canada Toolboxes

Yeah, and based on another posters comment about them shutting down around 2007-2008, that all tracks. USD tanked around that time, CAD was at par, or even slightly above the USD for a period. Canada lost a ton of manufacturing as a result since it was no longer advantageous to build here vs...

    VEVOR pass/fail

3HP AIr Compressor Pump - FAIL https://www.vevor.ca/air-compressors-c_10039/new-industrial-375l-twin-cylinder-air-compressor-pump-suitable-for-2-2kw-p_010403369304 Worked initially, lasted maybe a year before it stopped building pressure. Replaced reed valves tried resealing head etc. No...

    Pickup bedliner suggestions

I rarely pay for stuff, but I feel like bedliner is one of those thing that I'd pay for. Just the cleanup and prep and all that stuff, I feel like getting Line-X would be the preferred method. My 2016 F-150 has the factory spray in bedliner and it's pretty much flawless.

    Ceiling Fan Shop?

I installed two cheap industrial fans from Home Depot. Wired, no lights, just basic fans. I think they are in 50-52 inch range. You definitely feel the air moving when you've got them on medium or high. I think they were $200 CAD at the time.

    Canada Only Deals!

I like that. But realistically, these only work when the retaining ring isn't completely rusted to **** :)

Is bundling speaker wire a problem?

Are you an audiophile that can hear a mouse fart at 1000 yards? If not, it's fine.

    Canada Only Deals!

I must have skipped over those when I went through the sale items. I have a Knipex set, but might be worth getting the PA ones for in the house. I'm terrible at guessing a fasteners size, so these things are great to avoid having to haul a whole set of tools to do a job or having to make 4...

What Tool Is The Bane of your existence? I'll go 1st

You mean the ones who implement stuff different from the design (cause the engineered way is too hard) and then blame the engineer when it doesn't work? In all fairness, there is a staggering sense of superiority among many engineers. As I remember, it was instilled in them before they even...

Porcelain tile in garage in Canada

Is your garage heated consistently? Most ceramic/cementitous products are pourous. Biggest issue I would have is that traditional grout itself it not waterproof. Water will be absorbed then freeze and expand. I would make sure they're planning to use an epoxy grout to mitigate the issue...

    Harry J Epstein Day 2026

Man, every time I see these threads I keep thinking it's something else entirely. Really need to title it "Harry J Epstein Day" or something similar :)

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I had to look up those bags, never seen that style for a VFR before. Corbin? Those looks slick, much nicer than the factory style bags. I have a 2006, not nearly as clean :)

    Getting into Solar

I don't even think it's that. I think all it does is provide an automated disconnect to grid power. Their version of a automated transfer switch I guess. There's no connection on that for a generator. And the diagrams in the docs all show the solar/battery connected via a circuit on the main...

    Show off your woodworking

Something I did over the holidays. Did a full bathroom reno and wife wanted a floating vanity. Even cheap particle board ones seem ridiculously expensive. She picked the stone vessel sink and we went with a more rustic look overall. Top is spalted maple from a local guy. Cracks were filled...

    Insulating Slab on Grade?

Yeah, that's basically the same here. The specs for the frost wall etc. would be in the building code. For example depth would vary depending on which part of Ontario you're in, but as long as you follow that, you can get a permit for a garage fairly easy. A house would be a different story...
